Man this sux that its sooo off. Right from the beginning when they started casting every one it was a little scary but now I'm really scared! This is hollywood! look what they did with transformers and spiderman! TRANSFORMERS WAS THE BEST CARTOON TO MOVIE adaption since spiderman why does DB need to be so B grade!
After seeing the third matrix movie I'd been saying "man, that end fight scene was sweet with the flying and all that, DBZ would be an awesome movie! with fight scenes 10 times better then the matrix!" and what do they do!!! They get the characters when their at their weakest and least impressive and do some kung fu movie that screams out "WE NEED JET LI!!!" but slaps a DB lable on it as if thats going to make it all ok.
Personaly I liked that original live action DB movie made in china or japan or where ever, at least that feels like dragon ball with its oriental roots. Maybe they should have made the whole movie 3D or something like Advent children, at least that looked semi-realistic, I would love to see the DB or DBZ characters done up in a movie like that! Not some joke of an excuse to try and make another lame movie capitalising on a popular franchise. (IMAGEN THE MOVIE GAME THAT COULD COME OUT OF THIS! that would be the true abomination!)
This is another thing that gets me about the movie, the guy who plays goku and piccolo wanted to keep the original orange uniform of goku to keep it "authentic" or what ever, and by doing that it actually looks a bit gay.
What they should have done was set it at the beginning of DBZ or some time around one of thoes big events in the mythology like the cell games and done a star wars by making 3 movies that absolutly rocked and got all the fans pining for more and then gone back to the old days.
The problem with DB is that more people know off and relate to DBZ, DB is soooooooo old! at least DBZ was out 7 or so years ago in the west and is still sitting some where in the average persons memory.
I wouldnt have minded if they updated the characters in DBZ, like they did with the transformers, and made them look more hard core or rugged and capitalised on the brutal strength of the fighters but this movie is just WEAK!
I hope it never makes it to the movies here in Australia, I dont want the public having another reason to laugh and scoff at the franchise.
