i rescued a copy of Project Sylpheed.  it was sitting there for $5 for a couple months now... decided it need a good home.  Is it a good game?

i also noticed that Enchanted Arms (360) was being sold for $5 and Enchanted Arms (ps3) was being sold for....$70....

and i lold at their idiocy.  was the PS3 version even selling for that when it was new?  the ps3 versions of games always seem to be more expensive, at blockbuster, and theyll have tons of copies laying about...but this seemed a little extreme.

Well I work at block and first off new ps3 and new 360 games are always and have always been the same price, the encanted arms you saw would have been a PPG (previously played game) and was proably so low because noone was buying them. There arnt usually more copies of PS3 in the store cuz when we first get a game they send less PS3 maybe about 1 PS3 to 4 360. But then again block being corp owned they handle all pricing and sometimes its gets messed up.

Blockbuster's strategy doesn't exactly revolve around hiring the best and brightest. My friend once went in and asked if they had any suggestions for really bad movies (you know the kind) and the guy behind the counter said "I thought Return of the King kinda sucked"...

He never went back there again.

I watched the review of Sylpheed and it looked decent, tell me what it is like

My Blockbuster still has DS launch games as overnight rentals.

DS rentals? thats kinda cool we dont have that. If they are still 2 night rentals then your blockbuster just has not switched the covers from green to purple.

Yeah i used to work at blockbuster. You see, most people there have no idea about games. Just movies (if anything LOL). So yeah, like Finnbar said, PPG's sell for a lot cheaper cuz they're used. And they always get more 360 copies of a multiplatform game, for example: Madden or Soul Caliber 4.

And we have DS rentals at ours. But they're week rentals. What i have noticed is that Blockbusters situated near gamestops/ EB games tend to have much bigger library of games and employees with more knowledge b/c Blockbuster is always trying to get a piece of everyone's pie (including Hollywood Video and Netflix).

I got fired for working at Gamestop while i was a Manager at Blockbuster haha


And its pretty ignorant to say EVERYONE who worked at blockbuster is retarded...
All of my employees there were movie and game fanatics.... be a little more careful next time please :)

Well one good thing about Blockbuster I found out today is that they actually carry those fable PSN cards!! Now I can buy Wipeout HD without having to apply for a new credit card.

Project Sylpheed is not bad if you like space flight game like the old Wing Commander series. It was enjoyable. Story is typical cheesy Japanese Gundam rip-off space theme. It's fun if you are willing to ignore some flaw. The missions is often vague and control take some getting used to. For $5.00 though... it's a steal.
