Forums - Gaming - How does the xbox 360 have better game libary then PS3?

But CAL4M1TY, you just admitted that it's still an opinion...

"Fact: More people are of the opinion..."

So it still doesn't answer the OP's question since what's better for one person isn't always better for another. Oh, and another thing...

PSWii!!!!

Sure:

Xbox 360: Star Ocean 4, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Halo Wars, etc.

PS3: Resistance 2, Killzone 2.

It's a battle of the exclusives more than anything! D:

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

It's kind of a no-brainer that when over half of all games score above 70%, the older console with double the games out is going to have many more. That proves nothing. The 15-5 on 90%+ games is slightly relevant, but at the end of the day all you can do is peruse each console's library of exclusives and make your own decision.

Besides, if, like me, your PS3 is BC, you have WAY more than 15 90+ titles available to you! (Irrelevant, I know, but true nonetheless.)

Games machines owned: C64*, NES, SNES*, PS1, PS2*, PS3* (*still own).

GREAT MOMENTS IN HUMAN HISTORY

Just want to say to the people using Metacritic to base their arguments on. There is one huge flaw, game reviewers are ultra hardcore gamers. They have to be because they play virtually every game that comes out. So when you consider who is writing the reviews, which console has the games that cater the most to them? The 360 does. That, along with the bigger library, will show more games with the higher score.

Saying that though, there are some 360 games I would like to play. But I feel no urge to go and get one right now. The day MGS4 was released, anything short of God himself would have had a hard time stopping me from picking up a ps3. So, in my opinion, the ps3 has the better library.  Also, MGS4 and Uncharted kick a whole lot of ass.  I love those games.

edit-@the completist

yeah, every ps3 playes like 99% of ps1 games (upwards of 3000 isn't it?) so that would add a whole lot to the list and my ps3 has ps2 bc also so that adds 2000+ more games I can play.

I thought it had been argued to death that sales was the most objective way to see which games are best around here. People constantly refute metacritic scores with sales data.

While I prefer Sony's exclusives myself, I do believe that metric would put 360 over the PS3.

Being a fan of the survival horror genre, my top franchises are Siren, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame. And Resident Evil isn't my type of game. With that being said, Siren is a PS3 exclusive, and for those who want to use rankings as an excuse Silent Hill: Homecoming PS3 has the higher ranking over the 360 version. Also, the first person point of view isn't my favorite so it doesn't bode well for the Condemned franchise for me. And we know so far that Fatal Frame IV is only on the Wii. That's means the PS3 and Wi fits my survival horror needs.

Also, I like platformers. And guess what? You have Ratchet & Clank Future: WoMD, Ratchet & Clank: QFB, and Mario Galaxy which I'm a huge fan of both Ratchet & Clank and Mario, all quality games. And knowing SONY and Nintendo, I have nothing but high hopes for the platforming genre from those two companies in the future.

Also, I'm am RPG fan, but enough of the franchises on the 360 do not interest me such as ToV and Star Ocean, tried the franchises and didn't catch on to me. You also have exclusive offerings from Altus, but those games are too risky to spend my hard earned cash on when I know I have better choices out there. And most multi-platform RPG's that are on the PS3 are better such as Enchanted Arms, Oblivion, and Eternal Sonata with FFXIII Versus being an exclusive as examples

I do not let numerical scoring ultimately decide what I want. I decide what I want from the details I've researched. My gaming preferences are not the same as others so it is not better than anyone else's. Therefore, no one should claim that their opinion (or claim that anyone else's like pointing to Metacritic because it does NOT prove which console has a better library) is better than someone else's. As I gamer, I will never say that my choices and preferences are better than anyone else's because it's just opinion whether it's popular or not.

Your maths is a little off. Games 70+ include all games between 70 and a 100. PS3 has 62% of games above 70 and Xbox 360 51%. However, for the most part people only care about the good games in a library so all that really matters is the sheer quantity of good games, where Xbox 360 clearly wins...

...based on opinion.

If you have enough subjective opinions you will arrive at what is statistically a pretty accurate objective analysis. With this in mind, it is safe to say that for the average gamer the Xbox 360 library is considered superior to the PS3 library.

It is perfectly ok for one to say that another console has a superior library for them; however, the thread isn't about you it has to be about the average gamer.

... because of OPINION.

Thread title: "How does the xbox 360 have better game library then PS3?" because of opinion just like someone else saying...

"How does the PS3 have better game library than the Xbox 360?" because of opinion. But just like what twestern said...

"I'm going to use every thing in my power to make this as clear as possible..."

Some are so blinded. Sadness...

It all comes down to opinion in the end, but fact remains most people would say the 360 library is better than the PS3's.

Agreed.  I assumed the OP was asking "why do most people think the 360 library is better than the PS3 library?".  But apparently that wasn't really what was being asked.  It seems to have been "please show me conclusive proof that the 360 library is better than the PS3 library, or I'm not going to believe it's true."

The obvious answer is what you stated: the perception is there because of majority opinion, but some people seem to dislike that answer.
