yes, but like i said, what use are they? there are very few if any hacked ps3's. so they're pretty much wasting their time.

@DOATS1: They are waiting for the day the PS3 get hacked.

The cost of BD may effect the pirates, but they do not effect the people who write hacks or make chips for consoles. BD is completelky irrelevant, the only thing it might affect is piracy on PS3 vs 360 if that day ever comes. With cheaper dvd's the 360 will be the sad winner/looser of that battle.

@Waron: I was talking about newer games. Those seem absent. Perhaps new bd discs also have some new type of protection on them to keep them from even being carbon copied (CC is the easiest way to copy if all else fails ofcourse)

 

Also, PSP and PS2 have been released with other codes and techniques. I am not calling the PSp/2 vs 3 comparison completely flawed, but it has some issues.

Not entirely true.  There is widely available hacks to replace the hard drive with a larger one, and rip or download and play dvd and blu ray movies to the hd.

There just is not enough interest in the PS3.  Real pirates will just copy the discs or steel the supply... 

 

 whats a steel supply? do the people who supply the steel for skyscrapers make this?
