Forums - Sony - I expect a PS3 price drop announcement by Sony on TGS

Cue broken record--

There will be no price drops in 2008.

Why can I say this with such confidence? Because if there was going to be a price drop, about now would be the best time to do it and we would have already seen picture after picture of the price drop in various places systems.

I still think they are going to have to do a small price cut

I don't think sony anticipated the double pricecut move by microsoft ....but I don't think they should do a pricecut til after march...

The King Of The Iron Fist tournament

ps3 can't afford to have another price cut!!!

SONY just announced pre-orders for the 160GB, Uncharted, PAIN voucher PS3 for $499.  Therefore, I don't see a price drop anytime soon.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

PS3 really doesn't need a price-cut when it's likely to beat 360 this holiday season without one.

It won't happen. Sony isn't going to break the bank in order to please fanboys on message boards.

Yeah, pretty much.

But Sony is definitely going to care for their most important division and they won't let it fail due to their arrogance..

Is gaming their most important division?  I would think electronics or movies were.

I could see a price drop to coincide with the release of WKC in Japan. I don't see one for Europe, however, and NA is unlikely given the current state of the dollar.
