To be fair, looking at how Star Ocean 3 debuted, there wasn't much of a pause between the North American and European release. There was only a 1 month difference (August 31st to October 1st) between them. However, the damning thing for Star Ocean, was that Till the End of Time launched a full year and a half earlier in Japan than in the West. The friggin' directors cut was already out for 8 months in Japan before it came to North America. Fortunately, though, SO3 did seem to do very well in the West, and with Square's new "Publish it worldwide" push between IU and TLR, I think we should expect a release date around March or April 09 in the west, to capture the typcal March/April gaming push.

Actually, I think this more because of Microsoft than their own will. Most games released on the 360 are released in the 3 regions at about the same time. I think Microsoft encourage them to do so. We can see for example Tales of Vesperia that got released in the same month in North America and Japan while Tales of Symphonia 2 will release in december in North America while it has been out for a long time in Japan. The same will happen with FFXIII that gets released in Japan long before it gets to our side of the Pacific.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

SO3 was a very hyped game when it came out so of course it sold well. SO4 should do pretty well too.
Ugggh, Square, I hate you for jumping into bed with MS. I want my Star Ocean and don't have the time or money for another console!
I am still fairly confident that Star Ocean will come to PS3, as I don't expect the game to reach much over 500K sales with Japan and Western sales combined.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Name me five reasons why SO:TLH will only sell 500K WW.

Edge definitely resembles Emil in HD form.
The story has some serious potential. SO:TLH has to be the first JRPG(or atleast the first high profile JRPG) to use WWIII as part of its setting and as a plot device.
Graphics looks very nice. The character models are very detailed and are suprisingly realistic looking.

Edge is about 20 if I remember correctly. He looks a little younger because of his somewhat effeminate nature.
First time i saw this video:
http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/903309/star-ocean-4/videos/star_ocean_trailer_071408.html
Now I'm off to watch it again.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
Definitely good cutscenes but the gameplay scenery looks moderate for a 360 game. But seems like a fluent JRPG that should be fun.
