You are right grimygunz, the PS2/PSP does have the best RPG's going right now.  My response was more aimed at Bobo012893 unintelligent rant regarding said opinion of IU being a Piece of Shit, and how 360 RPG's are mediocre at best.  Then returning with responses like, DEMON SOUL FOR THE WORLD, cause the PS3 has proven what this gen.....exactly! 

However, 360 has the most establised RPG's THIS Gen, and doesnt look to relinquish the title.  It just astounds me when remarks like that are made from irrational fans who vent in MS Discussion threads because of their prefered consoles lack of RPG's.  Please dont take my response as being aimed directly at Sony, the PS3 is a great console, and the PS2 and PSP are doing great as well.   It was not intended that way, more at BooB012893 XD.  Thanks for the screens MrStickball, this games going to be great.

If your looking for my actual answer to the Playstation 3 question.....

There was a time that I was pretty certain that I was going to get it for my girlfriend - who's been a Playstation gamer since the early PS1 days (she's a huge Tomb Raider fan).

However, as the generation has gone on, every series that I thought I'd need to buy a PS3, so she could play the games on, wound up on the X360. It was a very strange feeling having bought her every single Resident Evil and Silent Hill game within the past 3 years, only to buy her SH5 yesterday (awesome game), on my X360. My X360 lives at her house 90% of the time now.

At any rate, there are no games that I need to play on a PS3 that would demand a purchase. There really isn't a genre I care about that the Playstation 3 has, currently. I love WRPGs and JRPGs, and since 80% of said JRPGs and 100% of said WRPGs are coming out on the X360...I am going to stick to my X360.

Now, having said that, it may be a different story for buying one for my GF. She mentioned that she wants a PS3 (maybe) for Christmas, which I'm not a huge fan of...There's virtually 0 games she would want for a Playstation 3 that aren't on a X360 (Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil). And the games she keeps asking about are in platform limbo.

Right now, the only game that would cement a Playstation 3 purchase was if Kingdom Hearts 3 was PS3-exclusive. Outside of that, it's just not going to happen unless she gets me to waste $400 on a system that provides no advantages of my launch X360 that she uses 90% of the time.

I think we shouldn't call it Star Ocean 4 because Star Ocean 3... well... you need to play the game to know that it would be hard to make a direct sequel. I have high hopes for this game because I preferred Star Ocean 3 to the Final Fantasy on PS2. I bought the first game because I thought the name was cool...

The game looks gorgeous and while I'm not a graphic whore, the character models in SO3 weren't really good compared to other RPG. I just hope we get the game by next summer.

Oh and it's weird to see someone trolling the thread. Usually the Microsoft forum is the calmest as there are less 360 fans on this site anyways.

I bought Star Ocean 3 never playing SO 1 or 2 because of the IGN review, game informer review, and seeing it was made by Square. I was plesently surprised how great the game was overall even though the story got all matrix near the end.

I haven't played SO3, but I agree. The game isn't a sequel in the fact that it takes place after SO3's story, but is a direct prequel to the entire storyline of the series. Which is a good thing. Continuity FTW.

UI was mediocre, do tri-ace square enix standards.

SO4 better be as good as SO3 and better because many whine about SO3 graphics as major flaw.

I though SO graphics were fine at the time. I had a general feeling last gen that graphics in RPG were FF at the top and expect everythng else to be atleast decent. I only a few RPG's had high buget graphics overall. off the top of my head Xenosaga, Kingdom hearts, and shadow hearts were the only games that graphics were that much higher then SO 3.

Still find it weird that this is not coming to PS3 since the previous games and the upcoming remakes are on Sony platforms.

RPG specially the turn based rpgs arent my favorite games, but, after play lost odyssey, i have to say, they arent as bad or borring as i was thinking. I will buy this one after watch those screenshots without a doubt.
