hey guys i recently upraded my connection to a 1MB download(120k/sec) and  256k upload(32k/sec) was wondering if this is enough to enjoy xbox live without lag?

It's adequate for most games. The bigger question is turnaround delay. Can you go to a site and get your ping times? Over >200ms will make things tricky.

 

EDIT:  clarification... go to a web site with your PC/Mac.  I suggest speedtest.net.

i just pinged yahoo.com and got an average ping of around 348ms doesnt sound too healthy does it

If you can get players that are close by, you won't have bad lag.

I can't say I've gamed on XBL with my connection (1.4mb down, 150k up), but I've done a bit of multiplayer gaming on InstantAction.com and had no lag whatsoever.

idk...you might not lag...but you certainly cant stop other people from lagging.

minimum conection you need for xbox live and psn is 512kb/s downwards connection. anything on or above that is fine to join any online game.

ok i just checked my ping on speedtest.net im in the middle east so i guess ill try various locations :

A. london, UK- 180ms
B. NYC, US- 280ms
C. tokyo, JPN- 210ms

overall i think those are pretty respectable ping times.. i mean i know i wont be able to play VF5 online but i guess Halo n the like shdnt be too shoddy eh?
