Forums - Nintendo - I’m putting it all on the line, for Rygar.

The original was good, but I never saw the logic in doing a remake (other than an attempted money-grab).

^So you have answered it. I really hope this game break 100k lifetime to at least it break even and then the bs talk "wii hardcore don't sell, bla bla bla" don't come back...

Well, what kind of excitement do they expect to generate by remaking a six-year-old game that didn't exactly set the sales world on fire the first time around, obtained no level of "cult" recognition, and seems to inspire no lasting positive reactions from the gamer public en masse?

I'll be very surprised if this sells more than a handful of copies, and it won't have anything to do with the "casual vs. hardcore" mentality.

I don't know how much it will sell, but the box art will probably sell the game. The informed gamers will ignore it because the rating (what can you do?).

I think it could sell 125k though. It is $39.99 from the start so it is kind of "budget". The success of this game could be a gauge as to whether there is another Rygar in the future. We'll see in the coming weeks.

I don't think there is ANY advertising for this game this time around either. You'd figure Tecmo wouldn't make the same mistake twice, but I guess they thought it was better that people don't know about it? Like I said before, we'll see, after 10 weeks, what the future holds for Rygar.

since the wii music review, I don't trust in IGN's review anymore. They really dissapointed me.

I somehow feel the same way... There are some reviewers there that aren't trustworthy.
