There it is. The Xbox 360 is likely to be down by 100,000 coming into the 2nd half of the prediction where it really gets messy. A difference which is within the Vgchartz margin of error will seperate the two consoles.

I can't call it personally since I have too much stake in this but I doubt that many people would have believed in April or March of this year that the Xbox 360 and PS3 would be within a few thousand of each other on average weekly sales going into the critical Christmas season.

So the question is this: Will my prediction come true?

What decisive victories? You are living in the past: for the past weeks the ps3 is getting owned in japan and it got rocked in europe this week.

in europe ps3 outsells xbox 360 by an average of 20-30k. this week, with the xbox price cut, xbox 360 outsold ps3 by only 25k so ps3 will no doubt be back on top after a few weeks in europe.
in japan- it will be back to: ps3-8k 360- 4k.
in america- well i think xbox will be winning by 10k a week
WW- ps3 will win by 25 to 30k a week average for the rest of the year.

and besides, its not like sony cant lower the price. if they dont, they will certainly give a huge cut in 09, and MS cant lower the price in 09 by much unless they want to go bankrupt.
