I hope Sony expect to do something in europe ...

I really hope they do, but I highly doubt it. They screw us over many times (price, launch delay, no EE etc). We're not gonna get a MODEL price cut...

 Actually your government screwd you with that price, its their vat.   And this thread is not about Europe ok.

I just remembered that this is the same Pachter who said the following:

"With a 17% price cut, you may get a 50% increase in sales. It's unrealistic to assume that demand will double."

So what gives? Is it a 50% increase, or 2-3 millions of 60 GB PS3 sold before the end of the year in USA?

This guy is obviously clueless, to the point of incoherency... Can I get a job as an analyst too please?

It would be nice if Sony did this but I fear that the only way the only way the price drop would happen would be if my sourcastic joke/slight prediction about the 120 GB model came true. Then again I did a saurcastic joke about the 4th type of gamer and come to find out they exist.(Though not exactly how I described them) So anyway. (Sighs)

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

I dont really believe that there is 2-3 million 60GB unsold in USA that seems crazy. Sony said that they shipped 5.5 million totally in march 31 2007. In Europe there is 1 million sold, in Japan 1m and in USA 1.5m sold. Totally 3.5m( I know that this site says 3.69m). The big question is how much have Sony shipped since then? Europe and Japan must have consoles in stock too. Lets say that Japan has 500k in stock and Europa 500k that is totally 4.5m consoles.( I believe that they have more specially Japan). With 2-3 million unsold consoles in USA that would make totally 6.5m-7.5m consoles shipped WW. It does not seem so crazy anymore that they will ship 11m till march31 2008. If USA has 2-3m unsold consoles Japan must have atleast 1 million and that would make 8m consoles Shipped already.

He said there's 2-3million unsold (to retailers) worldwide, and they'd all (mostly) be sent to the US.

I thought 2-3 million unsold was globally. Is that only US?

didn't see DKII, so it is global...but that other part doesn't make sense...you just can't send PS3 designed for other regions to the US...a PAL PS3 and PS3s with other region decoding for movies couldn't be sold in the US.

I understand if that is WW thanks. So that would make 1.5m - 2m in USA.

@twingo,
" Actually your government screwd you with that price, its their vat. And this thread is not about Europe ok."

==> I talk about what I want OK ?
this thrad is about Partner's analysis on Sony price cut in NA
I dont see why I cannot add a little :
"Sony need a price drop in europe too"
That is all my King.

Time to Work !

I just happen to think that there are many people who underestimate what the lower price of the 60gb system will do for sales of the PS3. If there are really 2-3m unsold 60gb PS3's, I would guess that they will sell out of them all around the 1st of october, possibly sooner. Looking at local stores in my area, there are 4 BB stores sold out now as well as 2 CC stores. That is a very telling sign right there that demand for the PS3 has increased considerably since those stores probably haven't sold out of PS3's since the launch period.
