Forums - Sales - Buying Games in Bulk?

This is why Nintendo makes profit off the hardware, they knew that the market they were aiming for wouldn't necessarily buy much software. ;p

Are those owners who have so many 'W' games counting VC games in their total OR is it only 'W' disc games.

I for one could think of an easy 5+ Wii games I would own if I didn't care about the sticker price. Being that I have to pay for them, I have only paid full price for two games, Zelda(great game) and Wii Play(Controller + 10 game), and discounted used price for all of the rest on Ebay.

For me:
Wii Sports (free-ish)
Wii Play (new)
zelda (new)
Excite Truck (Ebay)
Godfather (Ebay)
----------------------
Metroid Prime 2 (New-Ebay $10)
Zelda Compilation Disc (Free-ish)
----------------------
6 VC titles (new)

Out of all the games I own, 2 can be called purely casual. The others I think would fall under the core gamer group. If I had more game time I would've bought Super Paper Mario, Red Steel, Mortal Kombat, Madden '07, Resident Evil 4, and probably Rayman.

So that is 21 games total(9 Wii only not incl sports/play). However, being that I am a father of 3 young kids and work, I don't have the free time to play but the best games. So...I only buy half of what I would like to.

Well, since this thread has moved in many directions, I will just list the 8 games (-Wii Sports/Play) that I own.

3 from Launch (Target $20 gift card deal)
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Red Steel
Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Not full price:
Sonic Secret Rings ($10 Circuit City Gift Card deal)
Rayman Raving Rabbids ($30 Circuit City sale)

Other:
Super Paper Mario
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Godfather: Blackhand Edition

I feel I got my moneys worth on all of them, except Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz

Games I knew I would not get my moneys worth, and rented:

Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Elebits

Excuse me a moment while I go grab my Wii games.

*gets up from bed, grabs CD wallet from living room, returns*

Okay, I've got 11 games. 6 of them were gifts, 5 of them I bought myself. Granted, the gifted ones were in genres I'm not really fond of: racing (Need for Speed Carbon, World Circuit 4x4), FPS/Wargame (Call of Duty 3, Splinter Cell: Double Agent) or sports (Madden 07 -- which is actually pretty fun). Haven't played Avatar: The Last Airbender yet, I probably should.

I bought Wii Sports (came with the Wii), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, and Red Steel. I intend to buy a good deal more by the time October hits.

The amount of games is a bit low, yes. The quality is purely subjective. I like the games I own. I generally don't rent, because if I'm going to invest in a game, I may as well hunker down and go all out. I don't sell my games, I hold onto them. Even the shitty ones (for example, Super Princess Peach. Decent game, way the fuck too short to be anything other than mediocre).

I like the games I buy and I buy the games I like, and that's honestly all I care about when I pull out my wallet.

EDIT: I do own a few Xbox 360 games, but no Xbox 360 (my apartmentmate has one -- though three of us in the apartment all own Wiis).  Most of them were sold to me by a friend, though one of them I won (Kameo -- for participation in the ARG "ilovebees2")

Last update: Week ending November 3, 2007

Aye, I'm all for buying games as we have 3 active Wii users in my household, each of which likes to beat games at their own time. As such, while I might beat Resident Evil 4 in a week's time, between the three of us it will be on for a month. Not to mention we always go back and play the games again and as such, I don't like being restricted to playing a game only when I've rented it.

As for my collection:
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
Wii Play/Sports

Next week I'm picking up Super Paper Mario when it goes on sale at Circuit City and potentially RE4 Wii with FYE gift cards.

I'm banking on Black Friday putting some good sales on launch/early releases so I can pick up Elebits, Trauma Center, Excite Truck, Cooking Mama, Red Steel, Rayman Raving Rabbids and Sonic.

That's 11 games that I want to buy, not to mention games like Mario Party/WarioWare which I'd like to buy but probably won't get the chance.

Same here. Hoping Black Friday clearence will net me some older Wii games.

On reading the original post again -

Ok Kwaad who on this site has said they own 20-30 Wii games? Seriously either gimme a name or you're just trolling again.

Welll, as superchunk showed, maybe people included GC games that they bought to play on their Wii, as well as VC games, as games FOR their Wii.

I know I have 26 GC games for my Wii, because I did not own a GC last gen. However, I have an N64, SNES, and NES with the games I like. I have, however, downloaded a few Sonic games.

there are definitely more games on the wii that i ever considered buying for any one console. playstation yea, i love rpgs for that, but looking at the lineups for the wii games, there's definitely a lot i want to buy. not worth buying? yes, most of my ps2 games are not worth buying thats' why i rent games unless it's final fantasy or other big titles. but wii, i coudln't resist not buying. even after renting, i end up buying the used version of it cuz i love the game.

Currently loving my Wii x2, Xbox 360 Pro & Xbox 360 Arcade, and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Limited "Cloud Black" 160GB PS3

GAMEFLY & GOOZEX FTW

That's your opinion.

I dont know a single person who owns more than 10 PS3 games.
Perhaps because there aren't more than 10 good games out for the "P" console? That may be my opinion, but if you yourself don't have more than 10 games for the console made by S, well...

Everything else is a direct invitation to a flame war.
Have fun.

Does the "w"ii have 10 good games, i cant even count ONE thats not a port from a previous gen console.

"P"sp has no 10 games that are good, you think thats not direct invitation to a flame war.

Wii Sport? Excite Truck? Fire Emblem? Trauma Center?

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!
