Forums - Sales - American HW is Up!

I believe Wii is supply constrained. Stockpiling them up to increase demand for Oct-December Xmas sales surge.

It's a fact Wii is supply constrained, heh. Wiitracker still has no Wii's available (unless you want the $500 bundles). Still going above MSRP on ebay and Amazon, still sold out at all major retailers online (Bestbuy, Wal Mart, Target, Circuit City etc. etc.).

Nintendo is making 2.4 mil a month, yet we are only seeing 300k / week or about 1.2 mil a month, makes me wonder where those extra Wii's are going.

360 is doing decent if you ignore what the Sony fanboys say. We are still two months away (or less depending on who you ask) away from Christmas shopping. If Sony doesn't bundle their system with some games at the $400 price point, I can expect Microsoft to win Worldwide from November till the first week of January, making up some of the ground they lost this year.

It's just that simple.

Does America numbers include USA numbers only?

360 is at $199 now......& THIS is the response....its cheaper/equal to the frikkin wii now people

geez people - how many times do you have to be reminded price isn't everything.  if it was the GC would have beat the ps2 last gen.

Don't do this.....you'll make the PS3 fanboys cry when they finally realize that a $299 PS3 won't help them conquer Nintendo either.

WOw 360 is the biggest winner this year !!!!!
poor ps3 and wii

Some people have already mentioned this but were on the edge of one of the biggest economic crisis in the last 50 years. I think people are more worried about having enough money to pump gas in their cars and buy their kids next meal than rushing out and getting the latest deal on the 360.

If the eonomy somewhat stabilizes by christmas then sales will normalize and the true effects of the price cut can be seen.

PS3 is showing a normal downward trend as it gears up for some big releases. Every week in October and November features a big release, and that will keep it competing in America throughout the holidays.

Ummm... I'm not sure it's the biggest economic crisis in 50 years (Nixon 90-day price freeze to try and arrest double-digit inflation, end of Carter administration with double-digit unemployment, etc.), but we definitely have the biggest economic challenge in at least 2-3 decades.

And I agree that people are being very judicious with their purchases this year compared to last.  I, too, hope the economy stabilizes and sales increase.

Imo low numbers overall.
