man oh man this thread reminds me of that LBP (anyone got the link?) if i remember right LBP was bashed to hell for not including this online co-op feature....so should this thread.....damn you fable2 for not including this awesome feature day 1...damn you!

nah i dont care....single player is all i need

It is a day 1 fix.

so was the LBP one :p

I was merely correcting your original statement.  Not sure what LBP has to do with anything.

there was a thread a few days ago about how LBP will not include online co-op day one, and be patched upon release to include it. in that thread everyone and their mother bashed it for doing this. then coincendently fable 2 is in the same boat, but not as much bashing. i myself didnt care for online co-op on either game but just wanted to level the playing field :]

The same people bashing LBP for this are in here defending Fable 2 for it.

I would say Go to Hell, but that might be rude, so read between the lines and get what I infer.

I'm bashing both equally. Both developers fail to deliver what's promised, what if the gamer doesn't have internet hooked up or something? Major Fail on the developer side imo.

How's having the patch ready the week the game releases failing to deliver on promises? At max. we are looking at 2-3 days you'll be missing out this functionality. There's not even a case to be made for arcade users, playing on xbox live mandates a hard disk anyways - many games require post-release patches and anyone with the console plugged to the intertubes will want a hard disk anyways for the demos and xbla games.

If the gamer doesn't have internet hooked up why does missing the patch to enable internet coop hurt him?

Maybe his ISP isn't the unlimited type, like say anything over a certain treshold will cost you a bunch of money. Why should he have to waste his badnwidth for something that should have come in the box?

You really are grasping at straws lol. You've been caught flaming Fable 2 for something that is not an issue yet you come back again. A+ for effort tho lmao.

If someone didn't have an unlimited type ISP he'd be paying so much money the patch would be just crumbs in comparison. Do you know how much bandwith online gaming eats? The patch is peanuts. I know because I used to play EQ with germans before unlimited rates were marketed over there - geebus, their bills were scary.

So, what's next... the effort to click on the "patch the game" button is such a bear on the strength of the gamers it might shorten their lifespan? Or are you gonna argue about the HDD footprint of the patch? Heck, maybe downloading the patch is gonna affect the half-life of the copper wiring?

This is a non-issue but I'm not gonna try to stop you, the self-owning is always entertaining.

It's not that I'm flaming Fable 2 in particular, I'm flaming games made by developers who have you download patches, even if it is a day 1 patch. You can go back to the LBP thread and I was "flaming" there as much as I am here. Fact is developers who have day 1 patches for promised content are sloppy and should learn not to rush games.

I don't approve of companies who don't finish their products as promised and instead opt for rushing the product out. It's not that much to ask for, I just want a quality game.

No. At this point you are just trying to save face.

For reasons stated above, the Fable 2 patch won't hurt anyone and won't affect the quality of the game. If there are no victims there is no crime.

Go read my LBP posts too then come back to this, I think you'll find a trend in what I flame. Also the fact that there is a patch shows that it was rushed and they knew it, makes you wonder if they skipped out on needed polish as well so they can release it earlier. I can't think of any great games, at least in terms of what Fable 2 is trying to achieve, which were rushed to market. I'm not trying to save face at all, I'm just callnig out the sloppiness of the developers. And I'm sure someone somewhere will be affected by it even if for some reason the only thing missing from the game was online co-op, and not a single thing else (even polish).

Dude, no one is getting harmed. Solo players don't need the patch, online players have internet access and will have the patch available the week the game's released. You are throwing a hissiy fit over nothing. You are speculating that maybe this means that maybe there was some polish left to do because maybe if there wasn't time for this maybe there wasn't time for something else. That absurd sentence is the whole leg you pretend to stand on to save face.

So then lets just start accepting that developers rushing games is not a problem? I don't know how well that will sit with people who have bought such games before. My speculation is also based on experience, rushed games lack usually polish, rushed games usually have patches day 1 to fix or include something. Hence a game the has a day 1 patch usually lacks some polish as well.

You are assuming that the game is being rushed because something that is a non-issue.

In other words: look, there's a an apple tree... FABLE 2 IS BEING RUSHED! That's your whole point.
