Forums - Microsoft - Fable 2 Missing Online Co-Op At Launch

I wasn't so much highlighting the problems people seem to be having with freezing but more of the issue about the actual content available in co-op. What is there is exactly what was shown 8 months ago. The timeframe of the patch may have lead to problems for some but I don't think it has any relevance on how the co-op is implemented. I'm also not saying it couldn't have been done better either, because IMO it could have been.

The only thing I was addressing was your post 2 above mine from 1up complaining about how the co-op was put in the game. You assumed that as proof that the game was rushed when it's false. The issues about the game freezing I wasn't aware of so I wasn't even talking about that. If that is vindication of the rush job then I won't disagree.

I've only put about 8 hours into the game (my 360 died) but haven't had any freezing/glitching myself.

Very well, I just guess people completely blew it out of proportion and raised everyone else's expectations. The game hasn't frozen on me either yet. Meanwhile, more crippling bugs read their head:

"The first occurs during the "Monk's Quest" mission, in which players need to speak to the Abbot of the Temple of Light in Oakfield. If players leave the temple before finishing the conversation with the Abbot, they are unable to resume the quest -- which means they can't finish the game. The second bug occurs when a "Hero" player goes into co-op mode with a player still in the "childhood" phase of the game. Apparently the Hero character will have his or her experience and gold completely wiped out this way, which is a pretty brutal punishment for playing with a less experienced friend."

Goes on to say that they are working on a patch for it and all, but again, I don't see why it should have been released to 2 patches in the first month.

This.  The patch has yet to affect me negatively, and I am already past the other two major glitches.  I do not care for the way co-op is implemented.  The game is not really particularly good for co-op play anyway.  Not enough combat.  But once again, the single-player portion of the game is ****ing great.  The most fun I have had playing a video game in a while(barring Halo 3 of course, but I care nothing for the single player in Halo 3).

Can't believe this thread still kicking around.

The game's awesome. I can't believe that english bastard and his team managed to make such a good job with the combat system.

Are you trying to save face now by diverting the attention away from game breaking bugs, which would have been weeded out had the game not been rushed?

If that's what you wanted to read...

I'm saying the game's really good. But hey, who cares about that. There are things to bitch about.

I haven't seen any of these but 2 of my friends' games are constantly freezing and they don't seem to be agreeing with our views here.

How many games have been absolutely slammed solely because of bugs even if they were good games? I can probably make a list with them from over the years.

Did I mention Fable 2 was incredibly fun to play? I just finished destroying the Crucible and my dude is started to get blue veins from massive Will.

I believe you did, but somehow I didn't hear of any bugs being fixed because you decided to mention it again. Strange how the world works....
