Forums - Microsoft - I want to get an RPG but which one?

Ok, so i want to get a new RPG for my 360. I dont know which game to get though. I want either LO, Tales, or IU. What would be the best choice out of these if i want a good story, a game that takes a while to beat, best battle system, and what one is just plan the most fun to play?

Could anyone that owns these 3 games tell me what would be the best out of the 3 =)

Lost Odyssey would be the best choice of those three. Then ToV followed by IU.

LO is turn based, over 40 hours of game play. ToV and IU I have heard they are only 20 hours game play.

Isn't Lost Odyssey real long?

LO = 40+ hours of game play to complete the game. It offers a lot of value in terms of longevity of game play.

The other two games are around 20 hours in duration and are considered short for RPG's.

Is it mandatory to recommend a J-RPG? I mean, no W RPGs?

LO is pretty good, disc 2 IMO is pretty slow, but still a damn good game, and one that could probably had at a discount price by now. Then Tales for sure. IU looks interesting but I'm scared by the reviews.

I would go with Lost Odyssey. Game has a good storyline and takes 40+ hours to beat. It also has good old fashioned turn based combat if that is your thing.

IU is like 20-25. Tales is 50 hours.

Storyline portion of Tales is around 35-40 hours. It has plenty of sidequests though if the OP is interested in that, then the game can go beyond the 50 hour mark, same can be said for Lost Odyssey as well.

To be honest, the OP can't really go wrong with either title. Both seem to be able to offer exactly what the OP is looking for.

I wonder what his battle style preference is, this would make it much easier to suggest a JRPG.

Why not just buy them both?

If your not playing the side quests your just not playing RPG's the way they're meant to be played :P

Well that's what he asked for, so no point recommending anything else.
