Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto has lost it.

I say no more pills for Miyamoto. If this man's crazy we need more crazy people making video games.

How could anyone forget what the DS and Wii have done for gaming culture. Bite ur tongues.

People forget that at least Nintendo still makes games for kids and adults. I would'nt want my kids shooting aliens and chopping with chainsaws, at least up until they were like 8 or 9.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Yeah. It was more or less the same thing.

can you actually MAKE music in this like Mario Paint?

I think this is what will make or brake the game for ALOT of people.

No... Wii Fit is a game.  I mean, have you played it?  There are lots of game functions.

The problem people have with Wii music is there is as far as anyone can tell... no challenge needed to do anything.

You pick a song.  Then everyime you hit a button... it makes another note in that song... and that's it.  Unless you have the Balance Board.  Then you can do some cool drumming... but still.

I may be mistaken, but I've never seen that the game let's you make music (which GH:WT will let you do), for what I've seen, you pick a song from a list and act as if you were playing it

Come on Zexen.  I expect better of someone with a Suikoden avatar.

Did I just get rick rolled again?! You clever bastard damn you mario paint.

Was it a rickroll for me? I didn't even see the video, the preview image looked like Mario Paint so I didn't feel the need to watch it

Actually, that one is Robo's theme from Chrono Trigger (which does sound a lot like the Rick Astley song).

I really like the Mario Paint songs, especially the Final Fantasy VI/Chrono Trigger ones.  You should definitely check them out on youtube if you have the time.

Interesting, nobody remember that Miyamoto is a musician. Not a programmer, not a designer, he's just an artist

I think we all know that alfredo.

I guess getting kids interested in music early wouldn't be a bad idea.

Frankly, I wonder how many potential guitarists we've lost because they're off playing guitar hero instead of learning to play the real thing.

Arguably, those guitarists couldn't have been that dedicated to the craft anyway, though...

Actually, Guitar Hero has led to a dramatic upswing in kids taking Guitar lessons. So Music games really do get kids in to music.

That's a comforting thought, as I feared this would lead in the opposite direction as kids with musical drive would sate that craving via rhythm games and never venture into the actual field.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks
