Forums - General - McCain suspending his campaign

LOL.

So let me get this straight Sansui you don't really like Obama? You just hate McCain that much?

See I went the other way I started to like McCain and THEN started to hate Obama.

I for your sake would hope that everyone else does not feel that way. Look where it got you in 04.... No body liked Kerry. The Dems ran on a "We Hate Bush Campaign"...

It never works when people are not voting for you but against the opponent. (Unless the opponent is like Stalin or something... that might work)

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Okay. I'll say this once. Read this entire link very carefully.

I see. but didn't you also say that everything in politics was a ploy?
sounds like someone said something great about someone, and not many were ever the wiser for it.

You were accusing McCain of saying that. I simply clarified that it was Thompson who said it.

Did McCain know Thompson was going to say that and didn't correct him? Possibly. I'm not even going to guess about that.

I never said McCain said that. I said McCain admits what he did. I said I was led astray 4 years ago by what happened.

There are some who will vote for Obama because he is opposing McCain and the GOP-I am thinking of a certain percentage of Clinton supporters. Many, however, are voting for Obama as opposed to voting against McCain. Obama is popular and charismatic...something Kerry was not.

hell yeah he deserves respect.
But I was led 4 FUCKING years ago about this, and I loved him for it then.
That was such a big deal for me and I wanted him for president. Having given up information under torture is not a problem for me, but letting everyone (who hasn't read the book) think that you're some kinda patriotic hero is an insult sir!!!
sure that is not his problem, but I mean, how many people still think he is an unmovable force!?!?!

You noticed that Fred Thompson said that, not McCain, right?

right here rocket i never said that McCain said that. In fact I implied the opposite. I know you are trying to be simple in your explanations, but I can't figure out what you are saying if you don't explain yourself.

I said he let me go on believeing it. Which surmises that something was said about him and he played ignorant to the whole situation.

Ah yes.  And here we have it, a mini-me Republican trying to play the gotcha game.  Classic.

I didn't say that I didn't like Obama.  I said "I don't like him well enough to display a political banner in my signature in a videogaming forum".  I don't like ANYBODY well enough to put them in my signature, especially a politician, just because I "like them".  The reason why Obama's banner is in my signature is because I dislike McCain and his campaign/policies/cronies/vp/loss-of-morals/kitchen sink that much.

From last post: "I don't think Obama's a saint and I disagree with him on a number of issues that I have stated before.  However, I do find his character and personality to be more straightforward and likeable than McCain's these days, and his judgement to be more sound."

Nice that you ignore where I say Obama is likeable in a pathetic attempt to ridicule me.  Obama has 100x the charisma that Kerry and Gore did, combined.  And a hell of a lot more than McCain has too...

My vote is based on policy and who I think will do a better job running this country.  Obama has already won my vote.  My *open endorsement* of Obama is because I believe McCain would run this country into the ground.  I'm not normally politically motivated enough to endorse someone just because I like them.

Hey Rocket.... is it any wonder we "Obama fans" get riled up with people like bigjon on the prowl?  I've never once started a political thread, but I've been baited into plenty by this guy.

Doubt it. I know alot of people who voted bush in 04 that are now voting obama in 08, mostly because they like him and are convinced that McCain is taking the country in the wrong direction.

Edit: And talking to them, we liked McCain but he is not the same McCain anymore. He is not a maverick and he follows the party line now. The 2000 McCain is a completely different person. Not only that, what happened to the open McCain that let reporters be in the bus with him and had a good time? Now we got an offensive attack compaign who is blaming the media for everything. Not only that, so many VP choices could have been good or great, but he picks a VERY right vp canidate.

Nope, Bush received 50.7% of the popular vote ...

He is right though. First, Kerry did not win Majority. Second, MANY people were voting against bush, not for Kerry. The idea that he was a flip flopper stuck. I talked to many democrats then and most of them were not too keen on Kerry but just fumed at bush. Independents usually don't just go vote for someone else for that reason.

For every bigjon, there are five ultra-liberals on this board who slam McCain at every opportunity. Just think of some of the ridiculous threads over the past few weeks surrounding McCain and, in particular, Palin.

Are there obnoxious conservatives on this board? Of course. But they're few in number compared to the multitude of vocal liberals around here.
