Well PES 09 should put up great numbers for ps3 in JP, Then THere is Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 which is releaseing around the same time as Dynasty Warriors 6 last year and we all know that was the month the ps3 beat the wii in Japan. Little Big Planet Will Be Huge come october, Resistance 2 can do over 100k, and of course WKC launches Christmas dya just in time for the Japanes Holiday.

Cross Edge is a mashup RPG that I believe releases this week but I'm not sure sales would be good.

lol

Have you even read what this thread is about ?

I'll go with option A, cause I think 8K is more realistic.

He was responding to my post, asking what PS3 games are cominig out that'd hurt the X360.

I am still looking for actual dates and not heresay.

in japan?

thats hard to know but when the ps3 had a big title comming out msg4. 360 was selling too poorly in japan to compare.

However, Sony outta take its home country more seriously and this wouldn't even be a question we care to worry about.

Sony has made some serious mistakes this gen, but I think the most obvious one is in Japan.

A. Make a big console that takes up a lot of space

B. Support no jrpgs for your first year

C. Make it really expensive

= Market share loss. Microsoft is trying to step up, but once Japan decided on the Wii, it was really too late for either console.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Option C... especially once some of those bigger name Wii and PS3 titles come out in 2009. I mean if 360 is able to do it, it wont be for a long period of time. Although its doubtful it would. Japan has seen a lot of consoles jump up in one week and then steadily go down. It's not that uncommon this generation.

Yeah, but the MGS hardware bump has shorter legs than this price-cut, lol.

Not really, but yeah, MGS4 bump is gonna be one of the biggest software related bumps the console gets(along with FFXIII) this gen, so it's not necessarily a good indiication of a normal game bump for the PS3.

10k is simply too much. The 360 was selling at 4k before, isn't it unreasonable to expect a ~150% increase after 2 games and a price cut? Even if it levels off at ~6k, that'd be great for the 360. I'm assuming we're talking about the slow periods, not the holidays. November / December is a different story.

(edited numbers, more favorable for 360)

it was a 77k bump and sold out bundles :)

d) Don't know.

What I do know is that Microsoft has proven that the Japanese market is not impossible for foreigners. It would be nice to keep it going, but you never know. Trusty Bell sure didn't help the PS3 this week.

On the road again, back to 3-5k a week.

As in go buy us some coffee.
