R2 looks fantastic.  I can't believe the amount of polish and effects that they have managed to introduce since E3.  IMHO it is up there as one of the best looking games this generation and is easily on a par with Killzone 2 and Uncharted.

It's a bit unfortunate that there will be similarities made with Gears 2 that happens to be out at the same time again.  I reckon Gears is more like Uncharted for actual play and Resistance is more like Halo, but anyway if I must:

Gears of War graphically looks better than Resistance: Fall of Man, but Resistance had much more going on on-screen and bigger areas of play.

Gears of War 2 looks roughly the same as the first IMHO although there seems to be more added effects.

Resistance 2 is significantly better looking all round compare to Resistance 1 and includes more effects, more on-screen action and larger areas as well as larger on-screen baddies.

IMHO, Resistance 2 is better looking than Gears 2; maybe Gears 2 has a more darker and realistic look about it, but everything about Resistance 2 is better is what we have seen so far...better graphics, better models, better textures, better lighthing and larger areas and much much more going on on-screen.

Team Fortress 2 says hi, FEAR as well has much better multiplayer, Rainbow 6 vegas... Resistance isn't even close to the top actually. Resistance 1 had some of the most boring and bland maps I've seen in any FPS game.

In any case, its obvious they put a lot of effort in to MP with R2 so im sure it will be quite good.

Very pretty, yes. Lots of quality lipstick on this FPS.

2008 holiday PS3 will be huge.

What is R2? I read the forum rules.  Thread titles are supposed to be specific and spell out the full name of the game. R2 could mean anything.

You are mistaken, there will be seventy variations of the maps, similar to the first game. I don't know how many maps there will be in total, but each map will have numerous variations for different amounts of players and modes and such.
