Why swear off PC gaming...?  Valve is introducing matchmaking with Left 4 Dead, and it's all free...perfect time to get back into it.

Lazy? Bias? Unfair? , uhm I think more like wise enough to not meddle with ps3. Anyway just like others have said TF2 for ps3 is more like EAs job than valves.

 half-life best FPS ever made? hardly...i honestly do not see why people consider half-life the best. ive played it and it was OK at best. same with counter-strike. the only game that i might consider good, although its not even out yet, is left4dead. other than that game, again its not out yet but i like it so far, i have not enjoyed any game they have made. oh and they are a bunch of nerdy douchebags....just read any interview and you will see the douche within them.

Half Life 2 is a 2004 game. There was notting better out there in 2004.
I suppose you played the console port in 2007. 3 years later from when the original game come out!

First Half Life come out in 1998. The game had won over 50 Game of the Year awards. Metacritic score 96/100. Guinness World Records awarded Half-Life with the world record for "Best-Selling First-Person Shooter of All Time" in the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008.

Half Life 2 come out in 2004 and earned over 35 Game of the Year awards. Metacritic score 96/100. Guinness World Records awarded Half-Life 2 the world record for "Highest Rated Shooter by PC Gamer Magazine" in the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008.

first off i played hl2 in 2005 on the computer. i only played it because of all the hype/awards for the game that i had heard/read. and so it greatly disappointed me.

unreal tournament >> hl2
quake 4 >> hl2
doom 3 >> hl2
far cry (although barely) > hl2

I agree that Unreal Torunament is better than Half Life 2, but I didn't really enjoy Doom 3. Episode 1 and Episode 2 are by far the best. They're probably my favourite FPS's of all time. I found Half Life 2 boring in parts, too many vehicle parts rather than the non-stop action Episode 1 and 2 offer.
