I am a big fan of the band Edgewater, but they were mainly local to Dallas (had a song in the credits of Punisher), and they have since ceased to exist. I have a huge Metallica collection. Other notable bands I like to some degree which were not discussed: A Perfect Circle, Disturbed, 30 Seconds to Mars (but they've gotten progressively worse since their first album), Mudvayne, old Staind, some old Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, the first Weezer album, and one of my newer favorites is 10 Years.
