fadetoone said: To run down the music conversation, here is a list of bands discussed and their rating of goodness. Please note this list is definitive and any opinion you may have otherwise is wrong: Nickelback - possibly the worst band ever Tool - awesome Arcade Fire - meh The Roots - meh Radiohead - boring Soulfly - forget who they are 50 Cent - sucks Simple Plan - sucks Slipknot - ok Muse - ok Chevelle - rocks Godsmack - abolutely horrible Oasis - meh... they still put out music? Red hot chili peppers - suck Coldplay - more than suck The verve - not too familiar Creed - on par with Nickelback for suckitude Audioslave - horrible, how can you mix Soundgarden with Rage and suck? This is how. Three days Grace - meh U2 - sucks Green Day - everything but Dookie sucks offspring - good pearl jam - Ten was good, the rest is mediocre white stripes - meh nirvana - overrated but good Alice in Chains - awesome Metallica - one of the greatest Megadeth - not very good lately, but historically good Slayer - meh Pantera - good Trivium - not familiar HIM - weird Type O Negative - meh Nine Inch Nails - overrated White Zombie - ok Dropkick Murphys - only know from guitar hero Smashing Pumpkins - everything after Mellon Collie was boring 311 - first album was decent Incubus - ok Blink 182 - some good, some bad Reel Big Fish - not particularly familiar Iron Maiden - ok alter bridge - scott stapp wasn't the only bad part of creed, the rest of them sucked too Led Zeppelin - overrated but ok Pink Floyd - love the wall The Police - ok Joy Division - who? I am a big fan of the band Edgewater, but they were mainly local to Dallas (had a song in the credits of Punisher), and they have since ceased to exist. I have a huge Metallica collection. Other notable bands I like to some degree which were not discussed: A Perfect Circle, Disturbed, 30 Seconds to Mars (but they've gotten progressively worse since their first album), Mudvayne, old Staind, some old Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, the first Weezer album, and one of my newer favorites is 10 Years. |
Opinions are just that. Majority of Radiohead's music is experimental, beautifully arranged and dark amongst other things. Boring it is not. Soulfly is a band formed by ex Sepultura member Max Cavalera. Dark Ages is my fave. Chevelle is a total Tool wannabe...they suck. I forgot to mention Incubus...their sound is original. Look up Joy Division, they are proprioters of punk rock. Glad you appreciate Tool, hopefully we'll get an album next year. A perfect circle is good, in the mean time check out Ashes Divide.
