One thing I don't like with WipeoutTHD is that the best trajectory isn't so intuitive to find as in most racing games and sometime I'm going to go 0.5 second faster in a turn and I really am not sure what I did to go faster..It makes learning painfull....
The other thing is that due to pick-ups the game is having you take counter intuitive trajectories in some curves... ( ideally you want to take the inside and finish in the outside but some pick-ups force you to go outside, turn real early and end up inside and I just can't get used to it...)

I remember reading somewhere that Pilot assist caps your max speed at about 88%. I haven't verfied this though. For the 'Thanks for the memory' trophy, you have to race with each different HUD, not camera positions. From what I read, different HUDs are unlocked by obtaining a certain number of loyalty points...although I haven't unlocked any new Huds yet.

EDIT: Here's where I read the thing about Pilot assist. It's max thrust is capped at 88%.

You mean every ship model ? or even skin of a given ship ? Still not clear...

I won a race with all 3 skins of one of the teams and no trophy either...

 

ROFL for thrust, I won a gold medal for every cell in Uplift with it on, no wonder I am having so much troubles playing with it on, and no wonder I am having troubles doing well in those Flash races with it on, the faster the ship the biggest the penalty is...

 

Pilot Assist - You have to take pilot assist off if you plan to get more than 30% of the trophies. Some of the time trials are impossible to beat with Pilot assist on.

Pilot assist slows down your acceleration (which is thrust) by 12% and caps your max speed by 2%. It can also make unnecessary movements for you. bottomline: do NOT play wipeoutHD with pilotassist.

Thanks for the memory trophy - when you unlock 10,000 loyalty points for any team, you will get the final HUD (wipeoutXL i think). HUD can be changed by going to gameplay options and choosing to switch on the very bottom. Win a race with the Wipeout2097 HUD, then win one with the WipeoutXL HUD to get the trophy.

All Skins trophy (Liverly Liberation) - unlock all the skins for every ship then get every medal in every cell for campaign to unlock the 4th metallic skin.

The learning curve between the 2-3 tier and the 7-8 tiers are the worst in the game. Just keep practicing.

Gimme another 2weeks or a month of WipeoutHD and the platinum will be mine.

 

Problem is there are over 12 titles coming out with trophies support in the next month, not even counting past games that may get a trophie patch......



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Just cleared Meltdown and got to 33% in Wipeout HD. That might be it for me...
bbsin on the other hand is insanely good at wipeout if he gets the platinum. Seems like he's very confident he will.

@bbsin - how close have you come to reaching zone 75? or zone 50 using just airbrakes? To me those seem almost impossible to obtain.

Man, I wish i were insanely good at Wipeout. It took me damn near 2 hours just to beat Ubermall reverse phantom elite... most frustrating thing I've experienced yet. I still have ways to go but i believe i'll eventually get there by painful grinding. I know people that already have the platinum and are just going for world records right now.

As for zone zues. The furthest I've ever made it in zone is 52, and that was with airbrakes. After that, i took a break from zone. It should take me a day or two to get zonezues when I try it. Funny thing about the airbrake trophy is that you get so used to using airbrakes only after obtaining the trophy that it feels weird to use dpad again.

I got all the pain trophies you can get without spending more money... thats real lame they charge more for skins... blah.

but it's funny today I got more trophies in pain than I have for a month... and dicks balls was luck along with D-town destruction. Affliction addiction and attention spam were due i guess.

I think I'm going to be just over 200 point next update if I sync my trophies before then.... if not the one after I should see a nice boost
