Platinumed socom 4 and elite was a challenge, one of those games that cud b either 2* or 3* but until more ppl plat it, it should stay 2* then get other opinions

EDIT -- Yep, it's the damn YLOD! I'm going to keep trying various methods of trying to get my disc out, but until then, I'm stuck with no PS3.

EDIT#2 -- I managed to get the disc out by employing the "hair dryer" method, since I couldn't do anything else besides taking it apart. It works, but I'm not going to push it and then have it die on me continuously, so I'll probably play my cousin's PS3 until I get a new one.

Sorry for you ,man. That sucks.

But damn its like everybody's PS3 is giving YLOD.

WTH os wrong with this generation?

PS - Im so scared for my PS3!

PS2 - What was your PS3 model, MasterVG?

Mine was a 80GB MGS4 bundle, which I bought in August of 2008 off eBay.

i really liked cuboid i see akimitsu is playing it,i am playing under siege on hard and its kicking my arse,enjoying it though quite good fun

get my new pc next week woooooooot woot!!,my 60gb needs a rest its been having to do everything and i can start getting into some pc games i'm going to try the templar/crusader game and some sort of fantasy game first up i think and get my steam account back up should be some good deals on there

Borderlands might not be too hard ( got my plat yesterday) but the DLC are something else totally.
Maxi's Underdome is kicking my ass big time.

I have beaten 5 rounds in 2 out of 3 arenas and I can do the 3rd but beating 20 rounds ? No way ( without glitching but I don't really see the pt of glitching this even if most people do..)



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I love it. It's much better than Fallout Imo.

I got the plat yesterday.

I have completed 2 out of 4 DLCs ( but missing some collectibles trophies in Claptrap revolution) .

I am left with the Underdome ( I completed the small challenges but the big one are pretty much impossible without glitching so I will pass) and The secret armory of General Knox which I just started...( I might try the underdome again after the armory if I get some really crazy gear).

PS : You should have bought it two weeks ago on PSN instead of Amazon. It was 14.99 for PS+ members for the game + all 4 DLCs...

Yeah id forgot about that tour around the map race,

I really hate the cop time trials with the time penalties, they seem so harsh.

Well fuckshit. Didn't know about it, was playing Ar Tonelico. :-/

Starting work next Monday, hopefully I'll still have plenty of gaming time. For the working people here, what's your gaming schedules like?

Welcome to the club.  By hair dryer do you mean the fan test where you hold eject while you turn it on from the back?  Is how I had to get my disc out.

Nah, no matter how many times I tried to do the fan test method, it wouldn't work on my PS3, so I couldn't get the disc out that way.

The hair dryer method involves putting your PS3 upside down in a closed box, with the back vents exposed. You basically hold a hair dryer on its highest settings, like 2-3 inches from the back vents for around 15 minutes. After you do that, you take it out (it's going to be hot) and put it someplace cool for around 30-40 minutes (I think I left mine idle for around 90 minutes just to be safe), and voila! It turned out and I was able to get on it to get the disc out and go on the PSN store to sign up for a 3 month PS+ package (I had a few new saves that I needed to get to my cousin's PS3 since my free PS+ ran out). It still works for now and I hope it works long enough to do a data transfer whenever I get a new PS3. Until then, I got my cousin's PS3 (60GB model, but he barely ever plays it) to play on until I get a new one).

The hair dryer method probably isn't safe, but it's relatively cheap (who doesn't have a hair dryer laying around) and it doesn't involve taking the damn machine apart. If it works long enough to transfer stuff from my old PS3 to the new one I will get (which I've heard takes around 2 hours with a full 80GB HDD), then I'll be happy. I won't be happy about losing the PS2 BC ability, but I rarely play PS2 games anymore.
