Forums - PC - Keyboard Troubles......Again

If you don't know already I had problems with my old keyboard. Anyway my repacement worked until a few days ago. All my spares are PC/2s and my mobo doesnt have a pc/2 port. I ave a PC/2>Usb adapter, but the keyboards don't seem to be recognized. The lights flash on when I plug it into the usb and that  is about it. So does anybody know if I can get it to work, and I'm just missing something. I could replace this keyboard as well, but I want to see if this works first.

I'm guessing it's plain old broken and you need a new one...

I'm not going to make fun, but water+electronics: NOOooooo. Just...don't do that. You can use a slightly damp rag to clean outsides of electronics, but don't get that stuff anywhere near electrical contacts that could get fried...

No this is a different problem. That was almost half a year ago. I want to use my PC/2 keyboard with a PC/2>usb adapter. The PC/2 keyboard works fine directly to a PC/2 port, but when I use the adapter in a different computer it doesn't seem to be recognized with the exception of the lights flashing when plugged in.

It could be a problem with your adapter or your USB port...can you test a different PS2 keyboard, plug your keyboard into a different USB port, and test other USB devices in said ports to make sure?

If other USB devices work and you have the same problem with all USB ports with your keyboard, and other keyboards can plug into the PS2/USB adapter and work fine, then your keyboard is broken. Right now I'm assuming your keyboard is the problem...it could be the adapter or port though...only way to find out is test if you can.

I think it is your adapter, try getting a new keyboard adapter, I used to have a pc/2  keyboard using a adapter and it didnt work untill I bought a new one
