For next-gen. I have a feeling that MS might start following the casual crap like the wii. They already have with avatars etc. And with Crytec talking about the PS4 but not the next xbox even though it probably is going to come out quicker. If this indeed does happen it is going to be bad for us gamers.

Microsoft will probably have enough casual stuff to compete with Nintendo, but will have just as much hardcore stuff as now if not more. Microsoft likely aims to win next gen, and they should get at least 30-45% market share imo. Microsoft has the resources and ingenuity to target both markets. All they have to do is steal Nintendo's casual ideas and refine them; it worked when they stole and refined Sony's already stolen and refined gaming ideas :D

They may attempt to do the casual, but will always fall back on the xbox live online its hardcore gamer crowd.

you don't need to be scared about that. i think theres going to be a very spread out amount of casual games next gen, but watch out, because i think next gen is going to be annoying when it comes to hardcore games.

the way i see it, next gen graphics will be maxamized by all 3 companies. 90% of games will be on all 3 systems.

gen generation will be the most fierce.

sony learn from their mistakes.
nintendo is going HD.

m$ will have to innovate for their life.

i still dont get teh fear, its just redundant now, there is just as much hardcore coming from nin as there has ever been, the only thing that is being added in is casual, so i offer this,

plan a --a few games a year with hardcoreness factor met

plan b--a few games a year with hardcoreness met, plus a few casual games that are fun to play, plus a ton of causal stuff that is okay to play with a friend, plus a craptastic over load of crappy casual stuff....

its not rocket science to see what the future holds, and i like it!

Sony learned that their entire business model is wrong... Sell expensive hardware at a loss until you grab market share doesn't work. So I don't know what they are going to do next gen... probably copy MS. While MS is going to copy Nintendo...and Nintendo will copy PS360 and get HD. Amazing!
