I felt the same way when I got it, still do. One of the best PS2 JRPGs out there. Nice to see that you're enjoying it. What part are you on? Persona 4 seems to add more depth to the social links thing. As for the tired thing, it becomes less of a burden later on. You should get Nocturne once you're done with P3. Very dark and challenging, but definitely worth the experience.

I am actually not too far, I'm in the middle of Block 2, can't remember the date off the top of my head.

I'll look into getting Nocture. That was actually another question I had, if I should play Nocture, DDS or Devil Summoner:RK vs The SA. Although I remember reading that the latter was a departure from previous games and has real time fighting. I think DDS also has a direct sequel IIRC.

Oh and for the record, I joined the Kendo team.

Get Nocturne first since it's the 'main' game. DDS and Devil Summoner are spin-offs. Nocturne will keep you busy for a long time. There are so many things to do here, and there are about six different endings. It's pretty difficult, and the game forces you to strategize most of the time. The atmosphere, art style, story, etc is all well done.

After that, try the DDS games. The battle system is similar to Nocturne. They're pretty hard to find and expensive. Devil Summoner Raidou is an action RPG. The combat could use some work, but it's still good. You'll love the story.

I just bought Nocture off Ebay haha, it was $45 when all is said and done. (including shipping) It is also listed as Brand New/Factory sealed, so I figure that is a good deal. I assumed it was going to be $60+

I looked at some prices of DDS, that looks to be more expense though.

i love it but i would love to have more freedom in the game.
and some chores feel repetitive.

Yes man, FES is a fantastic game. It's, imo, the third best PS2 jrpg.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Shooting yourself in the head is deep.

Pixel Art can be fun.

same

I hope Persona 4 has more freedom and/or a potential PS3 Persona game

Great choice, you are enjoying one of the best if not the best game of the PS2.And Persona 4 looks to be as good, or better than it. When you're finished with it, you have to get Nocturne, it's darker, much more difficult, a lot less straightforward and more "open" (both in gameplay and in story), and it's fantastic too

Which are the first and second, if I might ask?

Agreed. Now maybe you can "graduate" to Nocturne and DDS. :)

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

I mostly just lurk, never post, but this thread deserves it.

Persona 3 also captured me... I played it twice. Then I got FES and played it once more, so overall I played it three times.

About two months ago I found this certain auction at ebay... Used Nocturne (with OST), Used DDS, Used DDS2, Used Raidou, Used Persona 3 and New Persona 3 FES... alongside two guides... one for Persona 3 and the other for Raidou.

What did I do? I won it of course. 220 dlls...

Then I sold the extra copies of Persona 3 and Persona 3 FES for 100 dlls... hell yeahz!

Still battling around inside Noctune... wow... that game is freaking hard... but amazing.

Oh stats, you're making me so proud ;). The price sounds about right since the game got a reprint a few weeks ago. I remember reading that DDS also got a reprint. I think play-asia are the ones that got the reprint. Not sure about DDS 2. You should play Nocturne first before you decide to buy DDS though.

Yeah, Play Asia has DDS for $45

But yeah, I'm going to hold of on DDS till I play Nocturne....which will wait till I'm done with P3:FES, haha.

That's why I'm not in any rush to play games like ToV and IU, I still got a few quality RPG's on the PS2 I need to beat.
