toys are generally for children and most ps3 games are not for children

Edit: my post broke, let's try that again.

1. an object, often a small representation of something familiar, as an animal or person, for children or others to play with; plaything.
2. a thing or matter of little or no value or importance; a trifle.
3. something that serves for or as if for diversion, rather than for serious pratical use.

This includes all consoles and most sports cars (which children aren't allowed to drive, in case you needed this implication spelled out for you).

like that TV is a toy. So is this website, so is everything else that is for entertainment i.e movies, computers, sports etc.

if you guys are honestly going to take the point that
a car can be taken for a joyride
digital hd tv can be used to watch 90210
guitar can be strummed for fun
piece of paper can be folded into an airplane
a fencing foil can be a toy if you pretend you are a pirate and swing it around
the ocean can be a toy when you try to keep the surf off your toes
a dead body is a toy when you poke it with a long stick
a dildo is a toy -almost everyone said so.

the wii helps us pass time while we wait for the 7th person to show up before we go out to the club/bar what have you.

these are all toy-like usages of these items.
honestly i don't think it's the subject thats wrong. but the audience? although i agree that those could in some way be called toys since they can all be something that serves for diversion rather than practical use. however on the contrary

a car gets me around places and is practical
a digital tv shows me the news and keeps me informed which is practical
a guitar can make someone famous and is a job which is practical
piece of paper can hold the declaration of independance which is practical
a fencing foil keeps you in shape which is practical
i swim in the ocean to stay in shape and that is practical
a dead body is related to someone so don't try to say its a toy
a dildo is definitely not a toy and why it has a prefix (sex) which implies a different meaning.

a console holds my music library and photos and i can solve complex problems within a game which gives me creativity and brain development in problem solving abilities and makes me resourceful.

^Lmao! You truly turned it around on him.

I use my PS3 for intelligent conversation.

Whoops, I was referring to RolStoppable's post but I was too slow with my posting.

theprof: a dildo is definitely not a toy and why it has a prefix (sex) which implies a different meaning.

A dildo is MOST DEFINITELY a toy!

theprof again: a console holds my music library and photos and i can solve complex problems within a game which gives me creativity and brain development in problem solving abilities and makes me resourceful.

I'm assuming that is your attempt to define the PS3 as something other than a toy (e.g. a console). Going by your definition, the SNES, Sega etc. don't classify as consoles either because they couldn't hold music libraries, store photos or graph parabolas.

So, your point is, Wii is just a games console (=just a toy for you) and the others are more than that, since they allow you to listen to music, watch videos, etc? So, what? Jack of all trades, master of none?

All I want from my console is play games and that's it. I can use different devices for other things, thank you.

Seriously, stop with those wii=toy threads already.

YOU LIED! You said in your OP that you will not respond at all. This thread has officially created a paradox of itself and should be locked.

first if you think a dildo is a toy, and not a sextoy, then you have no right engaging in any type of intelligent conversation.

secondly: at least the snes, sega, challenged me.

the perfect example is that it has been correlated that playing video games increases your reasoning capabilities, it has also been shown that brain training does not improve your mind.

for the last time it is not a toy, it is a gateway thru which young kids can get the porn the pc guarding parents wont allow...

wait...
OMG...

that means the wii is a toy...a SEX TOY OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use WiiFit to stay in shape which makes the Wii less of a toy than 360/PS3
I can also use it to store music and videos (SD card) and watch movies (streamed from my PC)

Brain Academy can keep your brain sharp and there are lots of games for mental stimulation like Zack & Wiki as well.

Again you fail to distinguish why the Wii is a toy moreso than any other gaming system. I guess PS2 was a toy by your defination too.

Edit: Where the Wii is different is that it's a pure Gaming System (or rather video entertainment system since WiiFit, Wii Music, Endless Ocean and others are not typical 'games') whereas the 360/PS3 try to also be multimedia entertainment systems since they play movies/music as well.  Really they are all the same - video entertainment.
