(Disclaimer: I'm about to show my influence from reading too much Joseph Nye) The problem is right now, our country is on the verge of economic, international, and structural disaster. For the past 18 years, the neocons have pushed America into a more divide nation, with more enemies, and a weaker foundation for the economy. Most of it has to do with international policy and trade at the hands of neoconservatives/state moralist who took over the party's Foreign Policy. |
This is why I hate the party system. One should be able to run on their own ground without being instantly slapped to the side by the two giant houses of legislation. This may be a republic, elect officials to speak for ourselves, but the people who really would be good for America aren't getting into the spotlight due to them not being within either of the two parties.
Even the people who actually would make a difference from these parties are even ignored and the people who is close to their party's views are the winners of their party's nomination. Obama speaks of change but his ideals and plans are inline with Democrats' viewpoints just as McCain's is the same as the Republicans. People like Ron Paul who are directly in the middle who strongly believe in our country and our founded beliefs are shunned aside for people who basically is more of the same.
The US Citizens want change but really if we want change we aren't electing the correct people who could bring stability and real change to this country.
