The problem is after Iraq i just dont believe the US government anymore.

Bunch of fucking liars could be screwing you lot all over again along with your children and grandchildren.
Forget about Energy policy, your not going to be able to afford to change to clean energy anytime soon thus oil barrons will continue to profit while US citizens drown in environmental impacts and debt.

Oil Barons really don't exist anymore... unless you mean the CEOs or something...

I'm not sure whether everyone have understood the purpose... This is supposed to prevent banks from falling, which would mean even more money loss for taxpayers.

A trash bank like the idea is, is a common procedure in a situation like this.

Also, the environmental destruction caused by oil companies is overstated ... Let's take a look at how "destroyed" oil companies leave the land after they mine bitumen out of the oil sands in Athabasca:

 

That is how (about) 95% of the land ends up being after oil sands production, and (for the most part) you can't tell there was ever a large scale oil operation on the land. The other 5% is pretty badly destroyed at the moment, but the oil companies are currently investing hundreds of millions of dollars of money into R&D in order to come up with a solution on how to reclaim the land.

Look into the condition of any other strip mining operation 100 years after the mines have shut down and I can bet that they're not in as nice of condition as the oil companies are leaving their mining operations.

Sadly enough, textiles are far more destructive to the environment than oil companies yet I never hear anyone complain about a major designer poisining the planet.

The US was already heavily in debt before they chose to bail out these banks/lenders. In the bigger scheme of things this will likely give countries like China even more influence. Last time I checked China had accumulated well over $1.5 trillion in foreign exchange reserves most of which was US debt. Just thinking about such amounts of money is mind blowing.
