Forums - Sony - PS3 sales in Spain ,official (Sony Source )

100k isnt a very big deal .But every bit of info is important .

I did put the info specially about my country (and Portugal ) sales data ,wich is a bit off in the site .Now if Ioi and the crew want to consider it they have it ,if they consider its shipped (although not very likely ) they will keep the data as it is .Thats all .

Are there no other 'other regions' not covered by SCEE?

PS3 vs 360 sales

Yea looking at it the 1.2 million is probably sell-through with whatever sales data they have. Which makes this site 7% too low, not too bad considering Sony is probably taking the high-end of whatever estimate they're using. I'm sure ioi will adjust it as necessary. He already has the PS3 higher a lot higher in Spain than in most other markets for its size, could just be simple doubt that it would be even higher than that.

Like I said I'd take the PAL breakdown with a grain of salt, though the overall total should be a lot closer.

I'm pretty sure Portugal is covered in "Other Europe" which makes it hard to tell if that 20k is higher or lower than what ioi has right now (Other Europe is at 120k) but again ioi is tracking all these things too.

The 360 has been adjusted downward in PAL repeatedly and the PS3 bumped upward a few times, it's not like he isn't afraid to adjust the numbers as necessary. ;)

Wii selling 700k in France I'm still skeptical of but the more I look into it, it seems that might be legit as well, which would be very bizarre since it'd put the Wii in France near the UK totals if true, and the Wii's already pretty high here in France on this site compared to the other PAL markets. Same issue as with PS3 in Spain I guess, ioi knew it was good there but didn't want to over-correct/overshoot it.

 http://www.scee.com/about/territory.jhtml

That is a list of all SCEE territories. It seems to be Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Africa and the Middle East.

Mike: Latin America doesn't seem to be covered, nor does South East Asia. There's a SCEK (Korea), and even if SCEA doesn't handle Latin America, or SCEJ South East Asia, they're probably up to SCEI (International), as SCEE doesn't list those as being part of their territories: http://www.scee.com/about/territory.jhtml

For reference, no one really knows (probably not even ioi, as Others by default includes whatever he can't figure out from the financial reports), but Latin America is supposedly included in VGChartz' Americas, while South East Asia is probably Others and not Japan.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

Thanks for the list. I think Sony Japan also covers South Korea with regard to shipping data, but Japanese tracking companies don't, right?

What about for example Hong Kong and Taiwan, together Japan they were the first regions to launch the PS3? What about Indonesia and Singapore? Are they included in the VGchartz other region data?

IMO it would be interesting to know which countries/regions VGchartz is unable to track, if any.

PS3 vs 360 sales

you have to remember when Sony says "Shipped" that means "Shipped from warehouses". When Sony say "Sold" that means "Sold to retailers". Never do Sony give "Sold to consumers" information, unless it's directly quoting NPD, Chart Track, whatever. I'm sure the exact same thing applies to Nintendo and Microsoft.

So 1.2 million sold to retailers, 1.1 million sold to consumers. Sounds believable to me.
