Wii Sports and Wii play have amazing attach rates anywhere around the world. These titles show of the Wii-mote pretty well. People may also be buying Blu-Ray movies and PS2 games for their PS3, like me.

i don't think that people is buying the ps3 only for playing ps2 games(why don't they buy a ps2?) and here the blue-ray is not very popular, despite of the adverts of ps3 (where it is promoted as a blue-ray player more than a console), people doesn't know what are the improvements of the blue-ray

In fact after the Game charts Ninja Gaiden Sigma was fourth last week in Spain ....

Any chance Adese releases their official halfyear console numbers to the press?

I can only speak for myself, but the PS2 has a solid games library and if you own a HDTV, playing such great games like God of War 2 on a PS3 makes sense as the game is being upscaled.

Sure I wouldn't have bought a PS3 just for playing PS2 games, but the PS2's games libary is especially hard to ignore for someone like me who never owned a PS2 before. Sure games like Killzone 2, Lair, Ratchet and Clank Future, Uncharted, etc for the PS3 will be so much more impressive technically, but that doesn't mean PS2 games like Ape Escape 3 aren't great fun to play for the whole family on a PS3 as well.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Every spanish gamer knows Meristation is Sony biased. Actually, a few weeks ago some of the writers there admited it.

If the PS3's numbers are changed because of these figures released by Sony, I demand the number of Wiis in France to be changed to more than 700.000:

I can only speak for myself too but in fact I have bought several PS2 games to play on my PS3 .I hadnt the PS2 so there was quite a lot of games I wanted to buy but couldnt until now .Some I have bought second hand but others simply in the Platinum range or first hand but price-cut .Right now I have MGS2(second hand ) ,Devil May Cry (second hand ),Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition (price cut ),Shadow of the Colossus (price cut ) ,Dragon Quest VIII (price cut ) ,Final Fantasy X ( second hand ) ,God of War (Platinum ) .......right now I only have 3 Playstation 3 games and 2 I bought with the machine .I am waiting for the games I like (Lair ,Ratchet and Clank ,Unreal 3 ,Heavenly Sword ,MGS4 ,FFXIII ,FFXIII Versus ,White Knight ) and while doing so I profit of the online gaming of MOtorstorm ,Resistence ,from Ninja Gaiden Sigma ....and from the PS2 games of course .What I want to say is that some PS3 users as me are using their PS3 as PS3 and as PS2 as well .Plus all the extras of course ,wich are amazing .

Meristation isnt Sony biased .Even if it was ,this is direct speech from the Sony Europe and Sony Spain representatives .I doubt Meristation is changing their words because they are "biased " you know .....

MeriStation = PlayStation. 5 editors, 4 soniers and one Wii60. Last article summary: "Sony had the best conference, followed by Microsoft and a distant third Nintendo".  Anyways, Diomedes, if you accept Sony's word on spanish sales, will you accept Nintendo's word on french sales?

It isn't very clear whether this are shipments or sales, whereas previous portuguese data (those 20k) was pretty clear about that - it was quoted as being from sales tracker GFK. It's also not clear to what specific timeframe does this data refers to.

Now, comparing the new 22k for Portugal with the previous 20k, it may very well be sell through, though no specific tracker seems to be mentioned, not for Iberia nor for Europe. Please take into consideration that, that I know of at least, no sales traking company would provide unified reliable data for the 100+ territories SCEE is responsible for. This, combined with the unknown timeframe, means it's hard to know by how much you'd need to correct the others data.

If you find other more detailed sources for the data, please do post them, Diomedes - that will help. When this kind of data comes out, unless it's inside info (which alone makes it look suspicious), usually more than one news outlet will have access to it (and some will mention the competition too).

You should post the original source, that looks far more credible than that. It even sites GFK as the source.
