To imitate Ben, I am voting for McCain to keep Obama out of the White House. Other than that I don't like it how Democrats like to cater to big city people with stuff like gun control and we know Palin is good with security because she was entrusted with it as Governor of Alaska. With Alaska being so close to Russia and China she would be briefed the day she took office of all plans should something happen with those two countries or others in Asia.

BTW, I know McCain isn't perfect, far from it, but I see way more impurities in Obama than I do in McCain and to the OP, I do think McCain can win because he appeals more to the middle of the country and we know how Bush being able to appeal to all those states helped him out in 2000.

Do you really think she got that much breifing about international conflicts from Russia or China?  I highly doubt she did.

I'm not diminishing her role as a governor, but McCain himself (ironically) said a governor wouldn't probably make the best VP, since there is really no foreign policy experience.  And then he picks the governor of Alaska...a frozen state with a total population of about 670,000?  That's 1/5 the population of Chicago!  I wouldn't trust Mayor Daley as VP, and he governs a body of people five times the size Palin does!  And Palin is second to be President...she just does not have enough experience.

And yeah Bush appeals to middle of the country.  And that turned out just splendid.

So you are saying you don't like the sates in the middle of the country?  Or just don't want them to have equal power with the big population states or something?  And yes Palin would have gotten quite an extensive briefing on what to do and what is going on with Russia and China.  Alaska is America's first defense against these countries if something happens and the feds know it.  And Alaska is only frozen for half the year, just like the northern region of the lower 48 as well.  You realize that Fairbanks gets up into the 80s in the summer?  The average for July is 73, which is quite warm considering it is so near the artic circle.  And I don't see how population has much to do with it.  The population isn't very big, but there are large American, Russian, Asain, and Native populations that need to be balanced out and the harsh winters means she would have to aprove budgets to constantly work on infrastructure every summer in a state that is so big it streatches from Florida to California if their maps where put on top of each other in scale.  If that is not enough experience, it is kind of ironic that you would support Obama.

edit: PDF, you realize that in those debates the canidates usually get the questions early right?

That may be, I didn't even know the religious forum thingy was going on. I do remember last presidential election though that one side or the other said that they needed to have debates where the candidates didn't get the questions before hand.

it is hard for me to pick i am a democrate i think, but part of me has realized that i am turning more to independent. i wanted hillary to win so badly that i can't come to vote for obama i just don't trust this guy sure he can talk, u can put lipstick on pig but it is still a pig. obama is suppose to be change, but his negative attacks make me think he is more of the same. people think we will end the iraq war u got to be fn kidding their is no way we are going to leave with that much oil wealth in that country, and since we are not drilling where are we going to get oil huh. we have to get it in iraq and other places that hate the sh*t out of us. congress can't even decide if we should drill and thier approval ratings are lowere than bush's. mccain has the best energy policy to get us rid of foreign oil which in turn is hurting the economy and will hurt us more than this aig, fanny mae bs, if we do not do something now about energy. we got drill which in turn will bring more jobs in california, florida, and alaska. build more nuclear plant, clean coal plants, solar facilities, wind farms we got to do it all and that will bring new jobs in our country and deprive us of foreign oil. i am leaning more towards the straight talk express, but still not quite sure got to see all the debates

Run for the hills, now that there is a swing voter people will try to convert you =/

You've got the right idea though, watch the debates and make your own mind....other people's opinions be damned!

To Each Man, Responsibility

Right now, I would begrudgingly vote for McCain. I don't like Sarah Palin much (don't like Biden either) and his negativity in his campaign (while generally avoiding clarification of his policy) makes me wary. I still like McCain but recently, he hasn't shown much of why I liked him so much ten years ago.

I like Obama but I disagree on a lot of his policy. What bothers me most is his ridiculous history of voting with the Democratic party.

The last thing this country needs is another hardline partisan in the White House.

the problem with some of those is that no body wants a nuclear power plant near their house because of fear mongerers telling people it is a waiting nuclear bomb (which isn't true) and people don't want wind farms because "it destroys my view."  They are wanting to put wind farms on the edge of the city that I live in, in a canyon next to the highway but stupid hippies won't let them because it would spoil their view of the mountains.  And there are people trying to put a big wind farm in northern Idaho but some millionaire has bought a bunch of billboards and air time saying how they are going to ruin such a pristine place with all the windmills and ruin nature and a big load of bs.  I hate to say it, but the vocal minority has to much control over what the government does and if they are rich enough they can run a bunch of slanderous adds that would make a politician look like a saint.

Wow. I am suprised there are so many people voting for McCain here. The general consesus is no body hates McCain, but most don't love him. That would be because he is a moderate which means he is not polarizing (like Bush).

Obama on the other hand is the most Liberal senator in the Senate, therefor conservatives are more appaulled by him. Conservatives would not like Hilary, but they could swallow it... There is no way conservatives could swallow Obama. Not with his radical views on the Economy and Abortion and Education and Healthcare and the such.

Rob Wagner. He's the candidate in my riding for the NDP. Good guy too.

Carol Hughes, NDP here.  Really close race last time, I think she'll get in.  The incumbent here is a shmuck who has done NOTHING PERIOD for the riding, except sit on his ass.
