Forums - General - If The Election Were Held Today Who Would You Vote For:

This is basically a poll. 3rd Parties are welcome. State who you would vote for and the #1 one reason why. Try and keep in on YOUR canidate.

McCain/ Palin

I think he has a solid record in the Senate as far as doing what he feel is right for his people and not the party. I do however feel he is not perfect in the sense that I think the last 8 years he was sucking up to Bush and the likes because he knew he lost the nomination because the base did not support him. I think we will see the McCain of pre 2001 because he is gonna not give a fack about pleasing his party because he knows he is too old to run in 4 years. I think Palin is a geniunely wonderful person, I am not sure I would vote for her to be Prez, but in maybe in 4 years and dealing with some foriegn policy I would. I believe she genuinely care about the people she serves as she proved in AK, and does not give a shat would republican think. I think the 2 of them combined would be a breath of fresh air, I do not agree with them on every policy (immigration- I think they are too soft). Basically McCain has everything he needs to be a really good president, and in time Palin would too.

Ok, that was more than 1 point.... Well, as long as you stay on your pick, and not the other Canidate!!

I'll just say Obama. I've got a lot to say against McCain and Palin, and one of the biggest reasons I'm voting for Obama is to keep McCain out of the White House, and I'll leave it at that.

McCain/Palin.

He is as liberal as a conservative can get, and as the same, I think he'll do an awesome job as president. But I dont think he will be elected.

Obama/Biden want to end the war while Mccain wants to occupy iraq for a hundred years. Its a very clear choice

Rob Wagner. He's the candidate in my riding for the NDP. Good guy too.

To imitate Ben, I am voting for McCain to keep Obama out of the White House. Other than that I don't like it how Democrats like to cater to big city people with stuff like gun control and we know Palin is good with security because she was entrusted with it as Governor of Alaska. With Alaska being so close to Russia and China she would be briefed the day she took office of all plans should something happen with those two countries or others in Asia.

BTW, I know McCain isn't perfect, far from it, but I see way more impurities in Obama than I do in McCain and to the OP, I do think McCain can win because he appeals more to the middle of the country and we know how Bush being able to appeal to all those states helped him out in 2000.

McCain/Palin

I agree with the fact that at the economic state we are in it would be a horrible decision to increase taxes. I also believe that he will help cut the pork barrel spending. He will be stronger on foreign policy and will get us out of Iraq after winning instead of leaving and allowing Al-Qaeda and/or Iran to take over and have the possibility of having to return eventually and the return costing more money lives and time than now. There are a multitude of things about Obama I don't care for, but in respect to keeping with the rules of the thread and keeping the peace I will not discuss.

Do you really think she got that much breifing about international conflicts from Russia or China?  I highly doubt she did.

I'm not diminishing her role as a governor, but McCain himself (ironically) said a governor wouldn't probably make the best VP, since there is really no foreign policy experience.  And then he picks the governor of Alaska...a frozen state with a total population of about 670,000?  That's 1/5 the population of Chicago!  I wouldn't trust Mayor Daley as VP, and he governs a body of people five times the size Palin does!  And Palin is second to be President...she just does not have enough experience.

And yeah Bush appeals to middle of the country.  And that turned out just splendid.

Obama. I always preferred him to McCain though I was a tad apathetic as I honestly think that McCain is a good and sensible man, even if more conservative than I would have liked.

The though however of Palin becoming president now makes me ardently in favour of Obama, she has the opposite of my ideals and I think she would be terrible for both America and the rest of the world.
