Forums - General - When is a good month to go to England and Ireland?

So I'm going to go to England and Ireland...eventually...and I want to know a good time to go.  I had heard that September was a good time but that chance has obviously gone out the window.

So, when is a good month?  The wife doesn't want to go during the real cold time so that's out of the question.

depends what kind of weather you like

England - We have about 2 months when it's mostly sunny June and July. May can also be quite sunny. April is very nice because of all the spring flowers and it feels fresh but it can rain a lot.

June or July.

It rained almost everyday when I was in Ireland in June of this year. I'd say wait for July or August if you want to completely skip cold weather but perhaps September would work as well. June got plenty cold some nights. Apparently they don't understand what summer is there.

We don't mind cold weather, I think we just want to stay from the nasty cold/snow. Rains cool, she just doesn't like the idea of snow and super cold.

What part of England are you thinking of goingt to? We don't have much snow in the south of England and almost none in London, it hardly ever gets colder then -2c in coldest days of winter.  Up north it gets a lot colder.

Including rainy months, anytime between May and October is fine, unless you go north in which case June till September.  Occationally we get snow in April.

You should be warned that English weather is very changable, you can have a wonderful sunny day that changes to rain and back within 30 mins. Some times you can have a nice day one moment and have hail the next....and then sunny again.  Be prepared. Be very prepared.
