Completely off topic, just responding to something in your signature:
I DO NOT HATE NINTENDO AS A COMPANY, BUT I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THEIR DIRECTION THEY TOOK THIS GENERATION WITH THE WII.
I presume from this that you would have been happy with us gamers having to pay $900 for a console and $80 per game next gen becuase that is what is likely to have happened if Wii had failed or had gone in the same direction as Microsoft and Sony and PS3 had been selling like crazy.

That's what would happen if one company had a monopoly over the industry. Look no further than MS Office and Windows. 2 or more companies with valuable market share, then there is fair competition. Sony lowered the price b/c MS had the better deal at first. Now MS is lowering the price b/c Sony has been outselling them. It is all fair competition.
I have no problem with Ninty being in there as with any company, and I loved the NES, SNES, N64, and GC to death, but the Wii just didn't impress me this time around. Even if it is extremely popular, I owned one long enough to make that decision. Rap Music, Titanic, Reality Television - they are all (were) massively popular things, but it doesn't mean I need to follow it.
While many folks here would like to see a company pull from the market, I don't. But, I don't need to buy into it either. I have a certain pricepoint / conditions in which I would get a Wii. I would ignite the flames if I stated them.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
