This is Sony arrogant doing. I think Square Soft is still bitter when Sony took out the hard drive out of redesigned PS2's. That move hurt SE in a big way with FF 11. If anyone ever looked at the install base of FF 11 on PS2 it was huge. Then XBOX put FF11 in there system. Followed it through with XBOX 360 and they even announced it, again showing loyalty to SE. Sony never advertised that FF 11 will work on PS3 people only assumed. I luv SE games is the reason why I bought a PS3. XBOX been smart planting the seeds in developers it cant buy and build friendships along the way. Sony needs to get smacked a bit to get them out of there high horse. If Nintendo fell since PS1 anything is possible.

No it isn't. Sony is raping MS. To the tune of around 3.6 million units (after 97 weeks PS3 is at about 15.5 million, 360 was at about 11.9 million. Difference = about 3.6 million)

I'd forgotten that MS has about a years start, and even so still Sony has sold 3.6 million units more than MS has over the equivalent period.

so now we have the 360 selling at a rough average of 141500/week, the PS3 at 160000/week and the Wii at 337000 per week.

So...Microsoft is raping Sony? hardly.

You have to admit, it was a smart move on M$ part,they look at japan and see how people there just don't like thier product so what do they do? They shower them with exclusives from the favourite japanese genre developed by companies with very good reputation there (unlike them).

 

On the other side, sony is accused of ignoring it's own market for the past 2 years in favour of pushing more western games in an attemp to dethrone M$ there, releasing games like R2 and KZ2 to compete with M$ games like halo and others.I guess for sony the western market is just a bigger priority.

hah !! i dont realy find it fascinating that xbox 360 sales went up for one RPG (IU) , I find it sad  how starved people are for one.

i agree with u 100%  microsoft has done a great job , but we all know one ps3 rpg will blow away all of 360s combined  , not bcuz i say so , just because 360s fanbase isnt a role playing one. just like halo blows all other FPS for other consoles away..

 

Good points here, and I'll tell you why.  Let's assume that the upcoming Final Fantasy games will be great when released.  If you want a great game, you're not a FF fan, you have a 360 and not a PS3, but you're willing to give FFXIII a try, then there will be little to no reason to buy a PS3 for FFXIII.  But if you are a FF fan, you'll "need" a PS3 to play both FFXIII and Versus.  The preconceived notion was that FFXIII was never coming to the 360, but like anything else, things change.  But the application of reality here is that if you are a FF fan, you'll "need" a PS3.  Besides, FFXIII is exclusive to the PS3 in Japan.  Need I explain more?
