My friend is biulding a computer and he found a new 8800ulta for 199.99. Is that card worth it or should he get a 9800gtx+ or hd 4850

I'd just buy a 8800GT, they're around $100 now and will play any game out there at the moment (yes you can't max out crysis, sooo sad), anything that costs more will be obsolete by the time you actually need to upgrade again.

8800GT is not a good card in my opinion.

Get a 4870 instead. Its faster with more modern technology and it burns less power.

a 8800Ultra for $200 is NOT a good deal.

you can find a HD4850 that performs very close for $150ish.
If hes on only a 19' monitor I would get that.
Hell even a 8800GT might do, those things are so cheap now

+1 a 4850 is slightly faster than the Ultra for a lower price.
