Has no one picked up on the word "revolution"

As in the original code name for the Wii.

Think about it.

That's all I say.

I may be wrong ... but then again, some others here may be wrong too.

Mike from Morgantown

You're thinking too much into it.

It's a better lead than the completely baseless assertion that the new game is a PS3 exclusive.

Assuming he was even hinting at anything is completely baseless. You fail. Even if this game ends up to be a wii title unless it's name is something like "The reason we said it will be a game revolution because we were referring to the code name for wii" then what he said is irrelevant and proves nothing.

And I'll repeat, because nobody answered me the first time: How many Japanese PS3 exclusive announcements have we heard in the last 1-1.5 years, at all?

Two Yakuza titles, and Valkyria Chronicles come to mind...

Disgea 3?

That's three games, two of which were announced just over a year ago. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

@ axumblade: I don't take offense to it. It's just annoying when a company is about to make an announcement and fanboys jump all over it going, "OMG OMG PS3 exclusive confirmed!!!!" without any proof either way.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

360 seems to be doing fine getting Japanese devs while not being strong in Japan.....don't discount it as an impossibility. If your theory always held true there would've been no 3rd party games on the Gamecube, or anything else than the PS2.

Why is the 360 getting more Japanese support than the PS3? Is it because Microsoft buys exclusives by any chance?

So, there will be a PS3 game announced by Level 5 if Sony pays them to do so. If nobody pays them, they'll make a DS or Wii game.

wii owners have been sayint htat for years now and it still has not come true.

Disgea 3? WKC was 2006... FF13 was but then taken back. But FFv13 still is.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Tekken 6...

He said PS3 exclusive announcements, and none of the games you are listing were announced withint he last year.  It's a valid point, but it's basically the same point for both HD consoles.  The vast majority of announced Japanese console games in the last year are Wii games with the exception of first party and Microsoft purchased games.

OT: I'm sure we'll see some stuff for both Sony and Nintendo platforms.  As has been said, Level 5 has a very bad relationship with Microsoft.

Are we forgeting Level 5 is making DQ9 for (gasb*) the DS

Level-5 is not DQ9 owner, that's a Square Enix franchise, so they decide the console no matter who the dev is...

Now, Level-5 does Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven in the DS and they're both owned by Level-5... I think that's because they don't have the resources yet to do independent titles for HD consoles (hell they only had the money to release PL and IE in Japan, Ninty is taking care of releasing them in the US), so if they announce a new PS3 exclusive it's with Sony publishing it...

Anyway, while I believe it is true that Sony owns the rights to the Dark Cloud name, that only makes it less likely that we'll see a DC3 - on the PS3, anyway. Level-5 is far more likely to announce DS or Wii games.

Definitely not out of the question to assume a new PS3 project will be announced.  L5 is finishing up work on WKC so they're bound to be working on other things, and they have a fantastic relationship with Sony so why wouldn't they continue working with them now, as opposed to moving to the Wii/DS?  Safe to say we'll hear about at least one project for the PS3.

Yeah it is. Sony publish all Level 5 games that will appear on their systems, and this event is for Level 5 published games ONLY. The most likely scenario is that they announce more Nintendo titles because Level 5 always publishes games on Nintendo consoles in Japan, and this is a Japanese event.

We won't see WKC, or DC3, or DQ IX. WKS and DC are published by Sony while DQ IX is pubished by SE, so they won't appear at a Level 5 published games only event.

Like I said, I expect:

-Layton 3 (DS)
-Inazuma Eleven: Break! (Wii)
-One or two new IPs. I'll be conservative and say one more new IP for the Wii or DS. Though "revolution" kinda hints at Wii.

That doesn't make sense Soriku.  Their event last year was almost entirely WKC stuff.  Just because Sony publishes it doesn't mean they won't announce it there or show it off there.

Oh wait...naz, are you talking about TGS? Because last year they only showed Layton and Inazuma at Level 5 Vision 2007. This isn't TGS :3

I'm almost positive they showed WKS at their event last year, but maybe I'm mistaken.

I'm pretty sure I remeber them showing WKC at their event last year too.
