Definitely not out of the question to assume a new PS3 project will be announced. L5 is finishing up work on WKC so they're bound to be working on other things, and they have a fantastic relationship with Sony so why wouldn't they continue working with them now, as opposed to moving to the Wii/DS? Safe to say we'll hear about at least one project for the PS3.

It's all about the game.

I'll answer your question with a question: How many PS3-exclusive announcements have we heard from Japanese companies in the last year? The last year and a half?
WKC itself is a holdover from E3 2006, when everyone still assumed that the PS3 would beat the newly-named Wii's arse to the Mushroom Kingdom and back. Now that the PS3 is dead in the water in Japan, and being thrashed by the Wii everywhere else, why would Level-5 announce an exclusive project for it, especially when the far-more-lucrative DS and much-higher-selling Wii are available to develop on?
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

360 seems to be doing fine getting Japanese devs while not being strong in Japan.....don't discount it as an impossibility. If your theory always held true there would've been no 3rd party games on the Gamecube, or anything else than the PS2.

Why is the 360 getting more Japanese support than the PS3? Is it because Microsoft buys exclusives by any chance?
So, there will be a PS3 game announced by Level 5 if Sony pays them to do so. If nobody pays them, they'll make a DS or Wii game.

I'm going to say it's probably going to be 50% - Sony |
I would consider Level-5 a second party studio for Sony. Sony has helped Level-5 a lot in the past and they have a good relationship. Insomniac makes Ps3 exclusive games only and they're independant as well because of how close Sony and them are. I really doubt Level-5 would jump ship now considering how much they still support the Ps3 hardware and it's capabilites. They have said White Knight Chronicles is only possible on the Ps3 so maybe they don't mind a hit in sales if they can make a quality game. Ps3 is also bigger in Japan then Xbox which means it might easier for RPGS to attach to gamers. Even if they did want to leave Sony wouldn't let them go easily considering their lack of RPG developers. Level-5 has produced 1 of the greatest rpg for psp and soon for Ps3, really doubt Sony wouldn't pay for them to stay exclusive to home consoles.

So your argument is that no company makes games for the losing consoles without being paid? Nintendo musta broke the bank back in the GC days.
...
Can't really compare last gen to this gen. Games are more expensive to develop and developers want to see profit. Also no one was actively trying to take games away from Gamecube. MS has made it clear they want Sony's third party excusives so it's a bit harder for Sony to hold on to games when MS is flashing 100 million $ at the dev while Sony isn't.

^This.
Also, when did level-5 become a publisher? That article needs to get the facts straight!
