I know I've created this thread 60 times, but I am still just baffled over the love for this game.

It's not a terrible game and it's definitely fun, but I would by no means consider it anything over an 8.

So for the fifth or so time, I must ask, why the CoD4 love?

Beacuse its great, best fps so far.

If you've asked a question 4 times and didn't get the answer, asking again won't do anything. Stick to Super Mario Galaxy and Spore so your head stops hurting.

It's one of those landmark games that will shape the genre for years to come.
Just because you don't like something as much as everyone else doesn't mean it's overrated.

It's a brilliantly designed game. An excellent campaign and an excellent multiplayer.

The Graphics: (Smoke effects, gun shots, character models, the environments, death animations and lighting all look fantastic.)

Audio: (Gun shots sound realistic, explosions and flash bangs are enough to startle you.)

Gameplay: (Fast paced FPS action, knifing, the ability to choose from a vast array of weapons, sprinting, shooting down helicopters, picking off opponents from a distance with a sniper, blasting enemies up close with a shotgun. It's all there!)

I'm excited to see what Infinity Ward can do next.

Maybe the question should be why do you not like cod4 and instead of us trying to covince you, you should try to convince us to your perspective.

If I were to pick any one game that is not overrated it would be COD4.  It is the best FPS.

Story, Presentation, and Setting: First game to be set in a serious (not comic book-ey) modern setting to take a look at what it's like to be a soldier (or marine) and not suck.  The way the story unfolds is epic and personal.

Controls: Really nails every single aspect of controls.  From the hip or down the sight, it's the most realistic use of firearms, while also being functional for a game.

Sound: VA, music (both the score and the mixing), and the sound affects are perfect.  The only unrealistic sound is when you make a hit but it is great way to show that you got a hit.

After death perks.  Last stand is classic.

Customizaton and leveling in totally new ways for an FPS.

The new multiplayer maps are so well designed  for play while still looking better than looking at the specs would allow you to guess.  (in a never before done realistic modern and/or realistic post apocolypse way).

Modes, nobody has done so many different balanced modes that actually work.  Yes games have had more, counter strike has many many more, but many are unbalanced or unrefined.

I could list more but I would reccomend just accepting the idea that you don't like (or haven't played) a game that many other people like.

Instead of making a troll thread about what game you think is over rated, why not make a positive thread about one you think is under rated.

Why always so much hate.  If you don't like something, and it isn't hurting anyone, then do something else.

it has great graphics, the best online game EVER, (ive played it for 10days 18 hrs, my dads playedit for 25 days 2 hrs) and it has a awsum campaign with sweet sound effects

He can start a thread about whatever he wants.  If you don't like a thread becasue it's negative, then don't read it and/or post in it.

On topic:

I don't know if innovative or groundbreaking are the right words for the game.  Perhaps refined and perfected are better words.  I love COD4, but nows a bad time to ask me for an honest opinion.  I'm just really happy with the game cause I can max it at 1920x1200 and get 60fps+ now that I've OC'd my videocard. Haha.

Actually, no he can't.  It's trolling because opening multiple threads about the same topic (which in itself is also not allowed).

Edit: I'm not reporting, it for a mod to decide but I don't think it's that bad.  I like him.  I want him to live a happy life.  I don't think the negativity helps.  I think you read a different tone than I intended.
