This is correct, and needs to be quoted for emphasis.

You'll have to wait until July 24th, this month to get the latest earnings reports. Hopefully, we'll get it broken down into business segments as well so that we can compare SNE with MSFT and nintendo's earnings =)

HOWEVER, because y'all want it , the wall street estimate for SNE's earnings per share of stock will be $0.18 for THIS quarter, according to www.whispernumber.com. The last quarter was $-0.57, so even though the earnings could be better, they will be a LOT better than what they were. Good news! This leads me to beleive that Sony has solved a lot of the problems that they have had with high production prices and also that they will have more $$$$ to shove in developer's faces to make great exclusives.

We should see a small jump in stock price with this earnings report coming out.

On June 25th, Nintendo's market value recently surpassed Sony's.  Sony may be more well rooted than Nintendo with many different businesses, but they're not in an economically strong position compared with Nintendo.

Nintendo's stock rose above Sony Computer Entertainment's stock for the time of about an 1 hour. If you now. Sony's stock is worth more.

Nintendo's stock went up, then went down a bit, and then Nintendo's stock went up again for good. It's considerably ahead of Sony now. Market Cap of Nintendo is currently hovering around 53 billion, with Sony's around 52 billion. Here are the reports from last month:

Nintendo is larger than Sony, and has been for several weeks now.

All of these are true but one...

Revenue: Sony > Microsoft > Nintendo.

Revenue overview:

Sony: $63.98 billion

Microsoft: $44.30 billion

Nintendo: $7.8 billion

And for the life of me I don't understand why everyone keeps repeating the lie that MS has more revenue than Sony. It doesn't. It has more profits. It's more profitabble. It has more cash. But it does not have more revenue.

No, this doesn't mean Sony beats MS etc, it just means that the facts are the facts. Please get them straight.

You're right, thank you. Fishy should change his post!

Your right, my bad. May I die in a pit of 1000 vipers!

That's pretty impressive regardless of what company you are a fan of. Nintendo being worth more than Sony? Heck even being considered equal to Sony is hard to imagine.

I can hypothetically picture all of Japans largest company's CEOs getting together for a meeting. Toyota's CEO walks in and everyone cheers, he sits next to the CEOs of Canon and Casio and then starts the meeting. For a keynote speech he hands the microphone over to Howard Stringer, who declares with power in his voice "I am the CEO and Chairman of Sony."
Sitting in the corner of the room with a cup of tea Iwata looks up and says to the guy sitting next to him "Heh, I'm more powerful than him. Hehe..."

Out of curiosity why dose anyone here care about these things? Does anyone have sock in these three companies? Isn't it enough to know that Nintendo, SCE and MSHE all have enough backing to comfortably survive this generation and most likely the next? If it comes down to pure fanboyism then it is just plain sad.

PS. If it is a case of fanboyism then I have decied to become an Exxon Mobil fanboy. My company has makes more money each year than your three companies combined. Next time there is a flame war over whose preferred company is bigger I win!

A bunch of us own stock in gaming companies.
