because of the effct it ha don PS2

WW PS2 sales:

 04th Oct 2003 to 27th Mar 2004
12,951,412
 02nd Oct 2004 to 26th Mar 2005 * 11,207,591
01st Oct 2005 to 25th Mar 2006 9,776,353

* Includes launch of PS2 slim in Nov 2004.

I don't see how the slim version boosted PS2 sales, unless sales were expected to drop even further.

I think they should. Every time i go to my cottage (the last 2 years anyways) I've brought up my PS3 in my suitcase, and let me tell you its not very fun lugging around a 13 pound console in your suitcase. A smaller version would be much better.

even if the above example of a slim version being helpful doesn't apply to you, what do you have to lose from having a slimmer console??

I didn't realize the PS3 was that heavy, but it didn't stop you from bringing it up to the cottage a second time and I doubt you would recommend people not to buy a PS3 now because it is too big and heavy.

I have nothing against a slimmer & lighter console and they obviously are not going to hurt sales.  I just wondered if there was a reason that numerous posters claim that PS3 sales will jump after a slim version of PS3 is released that did not include a lower cost or additional features?  Obviously all 3 consoles are going to be a better value in the future since their game library will be larger and the price will decrease.

People have all kinds of reasons to not buy consoles. I personally would probably be more likely to own a 360 if it was smaller as I already have the other two consoles and I'm not sure where a 360 would fit with the other two where I put my consoles. Size is probably one of my main reasons for not having a 360.

...

yeah it could help, but i dont see it happening in the near future, maybe 2 years from now?

A slim is PS3 would definitely help sells because it's almost a given that the slim would have improvements over its predesseros.

As of current PS3 problem... it barely make a noise... as much noise as my Wii... heat?? It has never froze up because of heat nor has it lit any thing on fire... A normal PC runs just as hot as a PS3... so why is that even a concern now?

Not if it ain't cheaper.

Isnt it well known that the Japanese especially like small things, hence most of their technology being put towards making things smaller. A small PS3 would go down a storm im sure

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
