first of, your right with big IPs staying where they are for now, but the Wii is getting a piece of the cake as well, not as much but some, but Nintendo has its own Monster IPs for leveling the playfield, (I just hope they bring pilotwings back) and yes casual gamers will lose interest, but not all of them, some might just ceep gaming others might come back whenever something interesting appears, some people tend to think that there is a fixed date when all casuals lose interest, I personally think there will be little waves of casuals comming and going, I do agree that this will not expand and just stay that way at its high point, but I do see the casual market as here to stay, and many casuals will get interested in other games so its a good think for all gamers not a bad one.
The one big thing Nintendo has going is the casuals - price correlation, if you only play party or karaoke type games with your friends once and a while (I´m trying not to put the girls in a corner here, lots of guys play those as well) you just need a price close to $200, thats why I don´t see Nintendo dropping of in 08, if sales go down all they have to do is put the price down to $200 and pack it with one or two games, maybe even Wii fit and/or an extra controller, then people will have no way to resist.
