That's hardly a stellar lineup of third party hardcore games. Are you trying to say they'll appeal to the hardcore gamer like:

Resident Evil 5
Grand Theft Auto 4
Call of Duty 4
Mass Effect
Killzone 2
Halo 3
Haze
Bioshock
Unreal Tournament 3
Silent Hill 5
Uncharted
Ace Combat 6
Assassin's Creed
Unreal Tournament 3
Alan Wake

and the dozens of other games I could list?

I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest with you but lets be honest, the non Nintendo hardcore aren't going to be getting excited about Dewy's Adventure or Jack and Wicki or Bug Island, etc...

I was wondering how many of those are exclusives. Not bashing. But it does defy your point in my opinion. Hell I could play most of them on my PC with better graphics.

I don't think you're bashing, it's just that your comment makes no sense in this conversation. If you're trying to say that hardcore games available on the PC attracts more non-Nintendo hardcore gamers to the Wii or attracts more third party hardcore game development to the Wii I just don't get your logic. All I see in your comment is some poor way to try to bring down the 360 / PS3 without it actually having anything to do with the conversation. Seriously what point are you trying to make and how does it defy anything that I've said? In fact I didn't even mention what systems those games were available for.

My point was that you group up Xbox360 and PS3 games like if they are both together. Obviously the Xbox hardcore can not play all the games you listed and neither could the PS3 hardcore. Therefore I completly lost the point of your list. That is what I meant. I am definetly not trying to bring down 360/PS3. It was just your logic I couldn't understand.

I was listing hardcore games not on the Wii...  Games that attract non-Nintendo hardcore gamers to other platforms.  Then you started mentioning something about graphics being better for games (not sure exactly what that was all about).  Could you tell me the point you were trying to make?

Oops don't bother answering, I can't be bothered discussing this anymore.

Hardcore gamers usually own more than one console anyway and for most the Wii will be the best chioce for a second-system. So they'll probably have a decent chunk of the hardcore market, too, if only in a back-door kind of way.

What? You really didnt understand what I said did you? I was pointing out that they are not exclusive. For a hardcore gamer, I can have such a list of games not coming to PS3 or Xbox360. Your point is very very weak. What I was saying is that in your logic if it is Wii vs everything, then everything wins, I was trying to merely point out this point. Maybe you didn't mean that, but if you expect more than 50% of hardcore games on the Wii, well that is a bit too much. It might end up 50% hardcore games for Wii and 50% hardcore games for Xbox/PS3 combined in the future if Wii dominates, otherwise each console will have their share of hardcore games.

Really I was not bashing of anything, I just merely couldn't get your point. You thought that Xbox360+PS3 games would be less than Wii? That would be strange in my opinion. Maybe later (even though I don't think so)

Of course the Wii 3rd party games aren't better yet. The 3rd party developers only anounced a shift in focus within the last 2 months. It will not be till late 2008 that you see the results of this shift in focus.

Also, he did a horrible job of finding the big Wii 3rd party games. I'd list them but i don't feel like spending an hour scrolling through Wikipedia. But some big stuff he missed is Final Fantasy CC, No More Heroes, Ghost Squad, Crus'n, NiGHTS, Medal of Honor Wii (not a downgraded port; a from the ground up with 32 online multiplayer), tons of anime games (Bleach Wii being huge in Japan), Red Steel 2 (also online play), Sword of Legendia, unanounced Konaim JRPG, unanounced Koei JRPG, Opoona, Zack and Wiki, and I'm bored of this lol.

Anyway the point is considering focus hasn't even shifted yet and we are seeing so many 3rd party games that are great/have the potential to be great should be a big glaring warning light.

I guess we're going to have to wait and see how the Wii's 3rd party lineup of hardcore games turns out.

okay first of all i never said anything about these games being HARDCORE. i just answered the fact that you said that they didn't have many 3rd party games coming out i was pointing that out.

as for the so called hardcore gamer? dude that argument is IRRELEVANT to me. really, if you're a hardcore gamer in my opinion you eitehr own ALL 3 SYSTEMs and every game known to man, plus a ds and psp and/or a PC.

being hardcore is a matter of opinion.  i personally don't think because someone would rather play, silent hill and gta IV or metal gear or add whatever hardcore reference game you want to put in there. over super mario galaxy or elebits or whatever else you don't deem as "hardcore" for a "hardcore" audience. a fine measuring of who or what is hardcore.

super mario rpg could be considered hardcore, as well as brain age, hell even nintendogs or the sims.

your list of games in terms of the "hardcore" element in my eyes were just a that. a list of games coming out on other systems.

but over all my point is that no matter what you get on the wii it's still going to be a unique experience. and not a so-called port from another game. just based on the motion controls period.  playing madden on the wii is not going to be the same as on the other systems and vice versa.

and their are 3rd party games coming. all in all i really don't care. i'm happy with my system and until they stop making games for it and it dies. i'll still be happy.
