Forums - Sales - VG Chartz Question: Do sales affect the enjoyment of a game?

Having played about every poor-selling RPG in the US on the SNES, no, none of it effected the fun level of the games. I was oblivious to how they sold, though. In my circle, everyone liked RPGs, it seemed.

However, later on, it did effect my enjoyment, because the USA has never got an Earthbound sequel, and for some reason, Nintendo refuses to release anything here. So it torments me each and every time I play Earthbound.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Hell no! check Shenmue I/II best game ever created on the best console ever made, not great sales for both.

Sometime I wonder, if it might be the other way around. I've been asking myself "How the hell could this game sell so well?" quite often these days.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Yes. I hate companies that make money off me. So, any game that makes them money is added to my hate list. The more it sells, the higher up it's on the list.

I only enjoy games that make them lose a lot of money to show that they put an effort into giving me the enjoyment deserved from my hard earn money.

I would check reviews not sales.

On games which have online play it would, if that is where I wanted to play. more sales = more people to play with = less time waiting for games.

Surprisingly many big sellers have been disappointing. Mario kart, gta 4, brawl and smg for example.

Hehe, funny thing. I loved 3 of those games, and thought the 4th one was excellent.

Any why no Carnival Games? All hardcore gamershould hate that game

I disagree:

Double Dash was a better game, Brawl unbalanced the greatness in Melee, GTA IV was meh.  However, SMG was awesome.

No. But it makes me sad if a game I like doesn't sell well, because I know it will never get a sequel.

+1 or games of the same type. For example, SRPGs and JRPGs

Absolutely not. It only matters in games you play online but after the game sells 100000, you always find people to play online (my expertise starts and stops at the ps3 though).
