| Bitmap Frogs said: Why are you guys getting hot and bothered about it? It's a fact Sony has always used this trick to sell their consoles. We are now approaching 2 years into the ps3 lifespan and there's many people on this very forum clinging on the hopes of Cell powerz that were sold to them and never delivered. And it's not just the gaming division. I work with pro video equipment and Sony is always using that same trick to sell their gear. They create a good sounding buzzword (Exmor! CineAlta!) and promise the heaven. Sony reps always go the same way "This [product] features the new amazing technology [POWERHADFX/EXMOR/CINEALTA/BRIGHTERA] enabling it to deliver the best image!". |
Oh, so that is the issue. I see nothing wrong with showcasing what a product can do and what it is capable of. If for some reason some of those features and/or plans have to be scrapped because of legistics, lack of market demand, and/or financial burden, that's fine because these things happen all the time in trade shows and in the marketplace. If a product interests me before release, I see it for what it can do, what it can do for me, and is this realisticly possible in the marketplace. If everything falls through, great. If not, I see if the produce can still service me. If not, I just don't buy it. I don't take it personal.
EDIT: Sorry for the odd format. My work browser...
