Obama is approaching 353 electoral votes I really don't think thats close...

It's close compared to Reagan V Mondale...

Why did everyone hate Mondale anyway?

McCain aides say he is likely to concede soon.

CNN gives Obama a lead of 1 million so far in the popular vote, and we're not even at the left coast yet. It's gonna be like a baby landslide, and then when the coast kicks in, it's not gonna be funny anymore.

Well, this appears to be working out (pretty much) as I expected ... Obama is going to win but it also appears that it was far closer than the pollsters were predicting.

Looking at the results I would say that it was a pretty big mistake of McCain to focus Pennsylvania and he should have focused on Ohio, Iowa, New Mexico and Colorado.

Close? Are we looking at the same election?

What are you doing up so late? Do you have any idea what time it is? Crazy Dutchman! (lol)

It's not close at all, it's going to be a landslide.

In electoral vote Obama is going to clean up ...

In popular vote pollsters were (on average) estimating a 7% or higher advantage for Obama with some as high as 10% (or more) ... Its likely going to be a 3% to 5% advantage for Obama. On top of this, when all is said and done, McCain could probably have won the election if he won the states that he will lose by 2% or less.

On CNN they're already asking somebody where the Republicans stumbled. And 2 of McCain aides said they see no path to a McCain victory.

Yes, in hindsight that looks correct. But I don't think it's going to be closer than pollsters predicted. (Which pollsters? What did they predict?)

But look at it this way... It looks like Obama could have won w/out FL, OH or MO. Florida has been a swing state so many times. Nobody wins the presidency without Ohio. Democrats are always trying to flip Missouri so that they don't have win Florida or Ohio.

Ignoring Ohio (because it looks like Obama didn't need it), now you're talking about Iowa, New Mexico and Colorado? How did the center of the political map shift like that? Who would think you could win without FL, OH and MO? A crazy thing happened tonight. I think I know what it was but I'm going to ruminate on it for a few months.

Please excuse any hyperbole in the above statements. I'm in a state of shock.

I blame Barack Obama.

FOX calls Va. for Obama. Wow! It is so over.

And my girlfriend is gone! I can now run downstairs, buy a 2 litre bottle of beer and celebrate!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Personally, I'll be clinging to guns and religion for the next 8 years.
