The Constitution is no where near authoratative on citizenship issues. How could it be really?

Its not like guys like George Washington and John Adams were born in the USA (the USA didn't exist, they were British citizens) and they were still president. The founders knew that when they wrote the Constitution, so the wording was intentionally made vague. Obama is the son of a British man, just like the founding fathers were.

Like it or not, Obama was born in the USA. Even if he had retained Kenyan (British) citizenship, at worst he would be a citizen of two nations. I'm in London at the moment, and there are numerous professors here who are American and who maintain dual-citizenship (although you can only vote in one country).

Jackson is right too - since the President nominates Supreme Court justices there is really no way to enforce whatever citizenship qualms people have with Mccain or Obama since the justices will want appointees on their 'side', and it would reek of political preferences in the wake of the 2000 election when the Supreme Court decided essentially that recounts were unconstitutional.

I think I've figured out halogamer1989's secret! His account is really an "undercover" parody a la the Sony Defense Force. By his ridiculously over-the-top and completely indefensible allegations, he parodies those who actually believe in some of them.

"What gave me away?" halogamer1989 might be wondering. Well, it's his sig. Smearing people as damncommies went out of style when the USSR did.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I live in Florida, there are some rednecks down here (if you haven't heard).  This morning, I'm palling around with a racist redneck neighbor.  Hates black people and jews (yes I'm Jewish, but he doesn't know).  We bumped into each other on the way to the mailbox, we see a giant McCain sign.  I say, "What do you think of that, pretty big?"  He grabs the sign and throws it into the street, to my dismay.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

My friends, try to be more kind towards Halogamer. Disagree with his arguments as you may, he's one of the few (if not only) people defending McCain, and he presents facts and good arguments.

Having unilateral opinion is fun for a while, but I'd at least like to see SOME balance in these sorts of threads. As long as people can be respectful, opinions from both sides should be heard.

Wow, Georgia? Even if Obama doesn't win there that is really a sign of a shift.

I won't repeat my little joke, but I won't apologize for it either.  I've seen Sqrl on the "other side", but I haven't seen him throwing around "Marxist", "Communist", or "born in Kenya".

Just because the court dismissed OJ from all charges, that doesnt mean he didnt do it.
